my first 2 stick stacks

i tried doing a stick stack the eugene rain way and i had a really hard time, probably just need more practice. anyways so what i did was just lay the pieces of color inside the tube, everything came out fine all my lnes were melted in and i was able to pull a tubbe came out sweet. so now my question is how do i keep my tube from cracking on me when i pull my points? do i just put the end of it in the kiln and wait for the end to heat up before i can pull a point off it. any help would be greatly appreciated.

i dont pull point on my color tube way to much of wasted tube, back of the flame or preheat in kiln. use a blowtube is my reccomendations

yes, what he said. I put mine in the kiln and pull it out and attach a blowtube then cut off a section and place the rest back in the kiln.

cool thanks guys thats what i was figuring. i got 2 lil good points and i made 1 wig wag and 1 vortex. with the vortex i split it in half and tried to make the spider lookin deal but it didnt work, any ideas. mine just look like stairght lines once i blow it into a ball. ill sleep on it and try to get a pic up. but my first time stick stacking i consider a success, its hard i need to build some more muscle.

If you anneal the tube right after you pull it then it'll be cake to work with after.

Use a blowtube instead of pulling a point. And yes, preheat in the kiln.
