Don't you hate it when you get like three quarters of the way through a peice and mess the whole thing up. I haven't done that in a while but it happened today. I worked all day on a nice perk and when I was almost finished I was putting a bridge on and the blow tube snapped and the peice hit the floor and shattered. :bangHead:

It doesn't bother me as much as it used to but shit. :depressed

Oh well, tomarrow is another day.

I've learned to successfully achieve my goal - I must first take a piece to 90 percent completion, and then either shatter it on to the torch, or drop something close enough to my punty connection to send it ricocheting around my bench, which happens to be stainless. Only then, can I continue on my journey to flameworking satisfaction. I have since come to terms with this necessary sacrifice to the Glass Gods. A word to the wise - cheating the almighty Gods of Glass is not suggested - your deceit will be noted, and an appropriate sacrifice will be called upon three fold.

Such is the wicked world in which we live.

I keep a pile of old shot glasses near the bench and sacrifice one to the glass gods before starting a new piece. Sometimes goat blood is required but that is for another time :dieslaugh

Working with soft glass, I'm used to a large percentage of my pieces breaking. Used to it, but still bothers me!!! :puzzled:

I bought 25lbs of Silly Putty online and lined my bench with it, stuff hits the bench and just bounces right back up.

Wow. You can even transfer your comics to your bench, and amuse yourself during safety breaks.

ive almost started enjoying when big peices break, generally by that point theyre pretty fucked up anyways, and sometimes even just sacrifing to the water gods can be way better than an ugly finished peice. unless everythign going great and your punty breaks. thats the worst ever.
