alright ladies, phillyglassworks.com has all the info, so open registration is on...we have around 30ish time slots. we also got major support at the trade show from sponsers that are donating glass, equipment, and prizes.the only way to enter is threw registration, don't assume your in, if i haven't recieved your paper work:}

i need some advice. now normally for events like this one a couple options as to accomadation are offered but, i have talked to the owner of the biggest hostel in philly which happenes to be a manson too, and they want to do anything poss. to have us stay their. it is 5miles away from the torch-off and we could have it for three dayz. it is 20-25 dollars a night. so i wanted to see what peoples thoughtz were on either leaving the choice up to the indiviual, or renting this huge house out for three dayz so we all have a chance to hang-out together

well hun, feel free to book the hotel, i know i'd be down...

but keep in mind you certinly can't force people to stay there if they choose not to, so whats the situation if we don't fill the quota for blocking off a section of the hotel?

if we go with the hostel, we have 80 beds to fill, i get the deposit back if we don't fill and your family can stay too just in a diffrent dorm, their are sep dorms for sep sexs. anyone can stay not just the girls. i'm just inquiring if u think we can fill the hostel. the first set of beds will be blocked off for competitors and the rest for family. what do ya think?... this way is more work but i'm willing to handle it, if u think we can fill the majority of beds. this way it's supa' cheap and a great way to all trade glass secrets:} this isn't the only option either, if u want to stay in a hotel that's up to u but, but getting this group rate might help us all get their a little easier....the group rate for the hotel is 109 a night...big diff.

ya that's it... what do u think? no sleeping bagz cause they have blankets but i used to work for yhi and we prohibited them cause we can't have guests sleeping on the floor or something like this, cause of fire ..hostels have weird rules but this guy is willing to bend the rules if we want to rent this house for the weekend....

Yeah... I'm cool with the hostel, too. I was just curious about the policy cuz my sleeping bag is like my binky. (no laughing.) I take it hotels, too.

is anyone going to the gas confrence that can promote for the event? girl blower or boy blower doesn't matter we just need someone that supports the event doing pr and i can send fliers and all that, just let me know.i have to stay where i am for a minute

is anyone down to help us keep our domain name. misha had a great suggestion that we keep famleflameoff.com . so that we can just always go to that site for all the info, pictures and video footage links... right now i'm straped for cash and time so if someone would like to help we need 30 bucks for a year.I have professional pictures that noone has seen yet and once i get the tapes back from the lameo video guy that didn't make a video i'll be able topost a link from you tube of the flame-off.

also thankz to winship designs for the deposit on the hostel. we have 22 beds left for 20 bucks a night so if u plan on attending the femlaeflameoff u may resereve a bed through me....the girls competeing and their familys get first pic...and whatever is left over is open to the public....

I am a bit confused. The application asks if you will be displaying your work at the gallery. Does that mean your finished pieces from the flameoff or additional pieces you bring with you?

You can bring work to sell. The pieces made during the flame off get donated to the charity of the year. Last year it was breast cancer, and I believe this year it's to help homeless people, but I didn't go look. The info is on the site linked from the flame off banner up top. ;)

ya, bring whatever u would like to sell to help pay for your trip. phillyglassworks is giving us their gallery to display them. last year a majority of the females sold everything and got to keep 100% of the profit. the peice u make will be judged and auctioned off on the third day.

this is a call to all artists that would like to donate a piece for the flameoff. all peices will be raffled off during the event, all proceeds go to rainn.org. when a winner has been selected for your donation we will introduce u and your company. u will also be added as a sponser on the website femaleflameoff.net the site is not 100% finished but check it out

their are two deadlines...I need to have all cash for the ladies that want to book the HOSTEL by SEPT 1st. all registrations and cash for the event particapants have to be in my mailbox by SEPT 15th...yes their is still room for a couple more so please get your cash and registration to me. note: even if i have your registration in, it does not matter if u haven't paid the registration fee... i need both....also, don't forget i live in texas and they still deliver the mail by pony so give your self some extra time, send your stuff in asap...can't wait to see u all their were going to have so much funn feel free to call me after nine if u have any questions 773-972-3838 except u dwaine :}

well, i do plan on it, it is just a matter of affording the trip. It will take me till like next week after mortgage and bills are all paid. to see if i can pull it off. we are perpetually broke, you know. i really wanna come though n i think jeff is pullin for it too. ill let you know as soon as i can, i promise. its a definate no on the hostel if i do come, i wont have the $$ in time.
