...ok this is turning into something a bit frustrating.
NONE of the email contacts from the flows webpage work. i tried to call with an at&t calling card (my long distance server) and i get a message that the flow doesnt take calls from blocked numbers. thing is, when i use my calling card an 800 number shows up on the other persons caller i.d. so it isint a blocked number.

ummm this blows, and i dont mean glass.

...you forgot to mention he also blows glass and gives lessons and demos. yeah ive known will for a while and hes always been really right on. he even invited me to come to his shop and hang out so i know will is solid and im not trying to say he isint. you just never know if the printer is hanging up the issue or a problem getting the paper he uses, could be a lot of things. i would have asked him myself if i was able to make contact by phone or email so i thought i would ask here.

btw, what is the last issue everybody has? mine is vol 3 issue 2.

Hey everybody. Thanks for the heads up. I always hate to hear that people are having troubles with their subscriptions.
I will have John Garvey fix those links, but I still get all my e-mails, i even sent one to myself to check. I guess you would have to type the e-mail address. Also, I have a very responsible subscriptions manager(Jennifer's mom, Sherry), who is answering the phone 40 hours a week. The majority of our subscription problems were resolved when she got me out of the office(haha).
So, again, my apologies for any inconvenience. The Jared Delong issue was mailed out January 4th. My buddy, who lives in Dallas 14 miles from where it was mailed, just got his issue Wedenesday, 40 days after it was mailed. I cannot control nor improve the mail services. I can verify if we have the right address and when it was mailed out. If you can't get an e-mail through or can't reach the office, my home number is 903-835-1959. I will make sure you get what you paid for, for sure!!!
Jo is correct. Our Japanese issue, the first international issue, is slated for release 1st of April. It will be the first issue that we have gotten together on schedule. There is a reason we are on time, which we will release that news with the next issue.
Thanks for your patience and support.

Peace,
Boxfan

Gain, thanks for the patience. Thanks for having my back folks, phab, Roze. And no Cosmo, I can’t blame it on the printer. I make no excuse. I am a hyper-active, adhd mofo fo sho and got to much shit going on. Not your fault. You all count us to be a stable part of your lives. Most of you have been with us since the beginning, and we definitely have love for this community in particular. When Jen and I started this project, we didn't even know if there would be Volume 2 or not. Thanks for having patience while Jennifer and I learned how to do this magazine thing. I would like to informally announce that we have taken a partner with the magazine. They bring 25 years of professional craft publishing experience and they have never missed a deadline. Jen and I have still have control of the magazine, so the content will continue to grow in the direction that you all tell us it should grow. We will also have access to more efficient mailing services that will get your magazines to you quicker and with less mistakes. This partnership will give us the stability we have been trying to ive you over the last 4 years. We will be making a formal announcement in the Japanese Issue April 1st.

Matt,

We don't do the subscriptions by the year, we do them in in batches of 4. We have averaged 3 issues a year, so it takes maybe 15 months to fulfill the subscription. If you pay for 4 issues, you get 4 issues.

Would love to hear some feedback on the new issue.
Do you like the themed issues?

Do you like the spread of tutorials, soft and hard?
Would you like to see more tutorials?

Do you like the event stories, GAS, ISGB, EGS, etc.?

What are we missing?(yeah, besides getting you your issue on time)

Why aren't you contributing?
This magazine is for everybody, not just the Milons and the Mickesen's.

thanks for taking the time

got my issue today.. that's some impressively slow mail time. i had no idea.

barely have had time to thumb it, but i'm stoked to see the mickelson graal walk through.. i always wondered about the patterned resist whatchhoogie stuff done with a computer.

edit: i like the flow being more focused on torchwork and tutorials.
i'd prefer 80% hard, 20% (or less) soft. those are "our" roots.
i read a glassline for the first time recently.. and.. i'm really glad i haven't read any of that artsy fluff writing that went along with the walkthroughs in that mag.. it really made me gag wading through the fluff drivel. (especially coming from someone less than a year behind the torch.. )

i do like event stories, i haven't gotten to.. um.. basically any of them, and i like to at least know what i'd be missing, or what to expect in the future. go to champs.. lots of us would appreciate it.

verdict still out on themed issues

not participating.. walkthroughs are great, but sometimes you see good ones, sometimes you see bad ones, and i'm not sure what really distinguishes one from the other. i hate my digi camera for anything but a totally controlled photograph. it's a time thing. are contributors compensated in any way?

thanks

I like the themed issues and the non-themed ones, too. i can't say which i like better yet.

I like the soft and hard tutorials.

events, love the event coverage even if it is far after the event

we don't contribute simply for a lack of time. maybe this year eh? :)

Contributors are compensated with trade. Your time is valuable. Not everyone takes us up on this, but I am willing to trade ad space, tools or my finished glass. Usually, we compensate for $100 to $250 for content, depending on the time it took to prepare. The exposure rarley hurts one's career, as well. We have only paid cash for 3 articles, because I'm a broke ass that usually horse trades for everything.

I love the mag, and have every issue. I usually read it cover to cover in a day or two, then it sits in a pile with the others, and I check them out now and again. This last issue with the cold work had a much more polished feel to it. Nice job! I was bothered a bit though because the class schedule insert was a month past. It got me thinking, how much more would it cost to get it to us from the printers in a week? I'll pay more for more regular service. Trade mags always cost more, but the info is so specialized it is worth more.

This last one is something special. The tutorials are outstanding and are done so well that folks with all levels of skill can learn something from them. Great job.
