Well this is my first post ever on something like this so I hope it helps and even more I do it right! All the post on the site have been very helpful and I do want to thank everyone for sharing.

A little background is needed so you will know why I wanted to do something a little different. I have a barn that I have set up my torch in and it is kind of like man land. I have seen lots of great ideas but most of them use some sort of hood or something that is a little intrusive to the area you are in. I did not want to put a hole in my roof nor have something hanging from the ceiling.

I made this out of 2, 8" black stove pipe / 1, 24" straight black stove pipe / 1, 8" hydroponics 960 CFM fan / 1, 8" through the wall hood with a flap that opens when in use and closes when not in use / 1, variable speed controller for the fan. The fan is balanced and super quiet.

I did a smoke bomb test and with the fan on 3/4 it sucks 100% of the smoke out quicker than I ever thought it would. I did cut a half circle out of the back of the table so I could get it closer to the wall.

The volume of air going though the pipe and fan is so high the air does not get hot at all. I would say it ends up about 10 to 15 degrees above ambient with the torch full bore.

Total cost of this was around $250 - $300 so not to bad for what it is.

I hope someone finds this helpful like I have found so many helpful to me.
