  • DIY color racks (gutter downspout!)

Recently made some color racks with Kato up at his shop. Since this is in the tutorial section I'll try to be easy to follow, yet thorough. That being said, these are pretty damn easy to make. In fact, the picture should really be enough for most people

    Materials required:
vinyl (or aluminum) gutter downspout. can be bought from home depot, 2"x3" diameter, we got 10' lengths from the depopt.
adhesive (I used Powergrab construction adhesive, tacks really, really fast)
caulk gun for above mentioned construction adhesive
something to cut vinyl (razor knife works, skill saw if done carefully, we used both )
    sand paper
    tape measure
    sharpie

So, you should be able to figure this out on your own from the picture. We marked, then cut a pile of downspouts at 20" lengths. Stack and glue however you please really. We made a few 9 piece units, that sit nicely, and stack themselves. They can be a bit ... fickle to stack/glue, but the powergrab adhesive tacks fast and strong so its ideal for this. If you scuff the surface with sandpaper the adhesive will work a even better. Then tape them up tight, or rig up a clamp, or just set something heavy on them like we did overnight.

    Voila, simple, and fairly inexpensive.
