Really cool glass machines

So I watched some videos of these machines in action if you look around that site and click on a few of the machines they have videos, It was cool to see some of them working the hot glass.

I watched the bottle maker.

Funny - if that was an american plant, they'd have eye protection, leather aprons, long sleeves, maybe even forearm guards.

If you watch them handle the tubes, you'll actually see the 2 or 3 guys going through the same motions. At first glance it just looks like a very happyey foreigner.. but watch the motions, they're actually keeping the glass within the same basic shape and wall thickness.

The smileydude really makes me laugh.

A dam interesting form machine though. Imagine a nice vase and bong mold instead of the bottle :)

I noticed alot of them of them machines only replaced a single person. For each step.
There used to be a multi task machine used in hot shops all over called a 'yo or 'hey boy" Programing was simple to you just tell it to do this or that and it freaking does it.

and at one point it looked like the anneler running robot almost droped a pcs. and I was thinking wow you can't even bitch slap it if it did. or blame it on too many safty breaks.

Tho some of them machiens loked like they did very speshialised tasks and very well at that. some of them don't seem like they would ever cost less then hiring and unskilled worker right off the street. like the anealer running robor.

but you're entirely right. I was thinking the exact same thng about the anealer robot.


The only machines there that I wouldn't really mind having are the spin-former and the gatherer. that gatherer is a very useful tool - 6 axis high torque robot arms can be programmed do to all kinds of stuff...get two and make a sick ass 2x6 axis lathe. Get two mnore for a tool and a torch.....

anyone got a spare $1,000,000 or so?

Yup I use them daily. The American Putsch tools are economical and so so as far as quality. The Putsch Meniconi large diamond shears are sweet. If you need a large pair of diamond shears these are the best I know of.
We have Putsch tools for students and renters. I personally use Jim Moore for almost everything except diamonds.

Smut - A robot manning the shears almost makes sandcasting a one-person operation.

BTW, I love that feeling when you cut glass (at the right temp.) - like snipping cookie dough.

I found it cool, yet weird that an industrial company with a pretty bland website that is not trying to get them any cool PR image, would be using hiphop music for the videos of showing off their robots.

I just read this in one of the descriptions of the machines

"Thanks to its simple manufacture and its easy application you are not obliged to hire skilled labour. "

Well isnt that just dandy for the factory overlords.

I wouldnt want to know anyone that felt hiring a skilled labourer was an obligation.
