best way to cut a bottle is get a bottle scoring gadget off the net...make score then pour boiling hot water along score then quickly pour cold water along score...makes perfect cuts!
Just for shits and giggles, I have to try this. But I gotta get some acetone first.
hmm...im gonna have to try this. it would make great cups to hold stringers.
i know some people who use "cooltubes". to buy a "cooltube" can by quite expensive. so instead they order big, round glass "vases" and cut the bottoms off using this method. makes an instant "cooltube" for a fraction of the cost. someone i know posted a vid but i can't find it right now.
This seems like the best way to me. If you don't have a wet saw.

JLF i watched that vid, got up and grabbed a wine bottle out of the recycling and it worked great. nice link.
JLF's link owns mine! Thanks dude!
and large JAWS tool is just right to score most smaller bottles.
So yeah, that video is great.
A little long.
(Save time.)
(Score ONCE around, pour hot water on the score, pour cold water on the score. POW, it falls off. )
