General interest: Vitrification of nuclear waste.
Sample:
"Long-term storage of radioactive waste requires the stabilization of the waste into a form which will neither react nor degrade for extended periods of time. One way to do this is through vitrification.[22] Currently at Sellafield the high-level waste (PUREX first cycle raffinate) is mixed with sugar and then calcined. Calcination involves passing the waste through a heated, rotating tube. The purposes of calcination are to evaporate the water from the waste, and de-nitrate the fission products to assist the stability of the glass produced."

And you have a lot of extra waste in Belize, you plan to do this at home?

Maybe I should have put it in the Wiki... :o)
Re: General interest: Vitrification of nuclear waste.
Wonder what the COE of that stuff is?
Introducing the new dayglow bong. Made from RECYCLED nuclear waste, the dayglow bong actually glows in even direct sunlight. At night, you can use it as an electricity free alternative to a lamp.
***Warning: Dayglow bongs will cause anal leaking, sterility, fuck all your shit up, and eventually death.

Re: General interest: Vitrification of nuclear waste.
I seem to remember talking to Mike Plane about him selling scrap to the local university to vitrify their irradiation chamber?
