Turtle Glass Holiday Newbie Competition!!!!

As some of you may know by now I built a mobile shop in a RV and as if tommorrow when We roll south it will be our home and work place :) I always saved all my scraps in my old shop and there is no way they are fitting in the RV. I also have a few random tubes and some color that wont fit. So many people have helped me over the last year, so In the spirit of giving back and since its the holidays I wanna give it all away to a newbie to the glass world. Im calling a newbie anyone in there first 4 months of flameworking with no prior glass experience.

~ Here is the contest ~ This is also being offered to flameworkers on Lampworkersetc and to my flame working friends on facebook just so yall know.

~Only pics need to be submited, so work on your glass photo skills!

~Make anything you want , be creative and original, and submit pics by no later than Dec 20th in this thread

~ Kiley and I will pick our favorite and You will get mailed a big box of random glass, that simple!

We will notify winner with a PM

I'm to much of a newb, (dont even have a torch yet). But I gotta give mad props to you and people like you, you have all helped to make such a great community!

woohooo! this is awesome man, really cool of you to do. In the past 2 months ive gone all out and built my first studio in my garage. Ive only gone though 2 k tanks and I haven't made much so im diffidently a noob. Shud I post pics here or pm them to you?

my stuff starts coming in tomorrow... I was just reading contemp lampworking and he says he always makes newbs start by making a turtle. I think i may enter. BTW thats so nice of you to do something like this. Props.

Does it have to be something made for he contest or can it be a picture of the coolest thing I've made?

Dude this is awesome, I wish I was up and running. Waitn on glass, finishing bench trenching ,wiring and ventilation. But what a truly beautiful thing to see how you and many others here give back ! I hope to be up by mid Jan! Until then my only experience melting glass was throwing beer bottles in the bonfire. But I am so freakin excited. Can't wait to start! Anyways total up's Brotha!:chilling:

ill prob be trying an ISO spoon today. Its my 3/4th day on the torch. 1st day didnt do much, and yesterday had relatives I had to see. but today I should be able to bust out some new things. I hope I make something cool enough to win. that pendant kicks the shit out of any i have done so far, but we'll see.

First three weeks on the torch... Hello my name is Johnny J from up here in the tundra of duluth mn.. wanted to get in here and say hi many times but this is first post ever grrr so dont know if pic will work but love everything glass been learning more then actually blaze time do to funding and the bitter cold but hope to be postin more every day for years to come def appreciate all you artists def the inspiration thanks much.... lightin dosesnt show much been working with fuming and soild silver with dichroic and def working on the shapin but i have great friends among us here in dultuh where i am learning the finer details well thanks much to all much love.....best be going....... I felt bad about not entering because i really wanted to just didnt have anything ready yet. A kid getting the glass made me happy. Props Turtle!
