I have a pm2d that is popping/farting. I am worried it has internal leaks. Are you willing and able to service something like this?
unfortunately, no. there's a good chance you have an internal leak that needs to be soldered. i do not do soldering, welding, machining, or other torches. my repair specialty is simply adjusting the timing on herbies.
i believe bethlehem is very reasonable for repairs on their torches. herbert arnold on the other hand is very expensive and you have to ship back and forth to germany. usually runs people in the $1500 range, but they will usually replace your valves and give the torch a rebuild.
my service includes cleaning, oiling, and a full reset
when i quit being poor im sending my to you. meant to do it 6 months ago, should have while i had money.
As soon as I get a new torch I would love to send in my herbie. I've had it 9 years but works good everyday, but I feel it definitely needs a cleaning.
