ive been on the mobile for a long time now and now that I have internet this websites way better! but I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to use the search function better. when ever I search things I normally just get tons of peoples progression threads which are nice but not what I searched for. any advice is appreicieated. P.s. if theres already a thread on this my bad I couldn't find it in the search :)
Try searching for word combinations rather than single keywords by using the "+" symbol between each word.
graphite+tool+diy
sparkle+checking+encasement
foot+pedal+caveat+emptor
etc..
The search function will only return results that contain all of the words you searched for.
always start by clicking the magnifying glass to get the advanced settings.
choosing to show results as 'posts' instead of threads in advanced search helps me a lot
99% of the time I find what I need by using the advanced search and switching it to "search titles only".
It will only bring up the threads that have those keywords as the main topic of the posts.
I think it works waaay better then searching the entire posts' contents.
Usually only a few pages of results to go through too. :bouncy:
I also like to use the similar threads or post box at bottom of page.
Let's say you search for vacstacks once you view the first thread you can pick a similar one and follow the wormhole.
