Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
There are about 10,000 posts here about how bad Unlimited Oxygen is. I knew the wait time was bad and Jacks practices are sketchy at best. Still, I talked to him a bunch and finally decided to order an M-20 from him this September. I just moved and couldn't take my EX-15 with me. I didn't do all of the research I should have about alternatives but there seemed to be enough people out there who had working machines and the prices were alright. I bought an M-20 through Jack using PayPal (mistake n+1) and he said I'd have my machine in about a month.
About a week later, I got some shipping notifications for other peoples orders from him. This should have set off an alarm for me but I asked him about it and he said it was a mistake on his end and my machine should be done soon. Basically that was the last I heard from him. Life caught up with me for a few months and I forgot about this all and figured I'd get it soon enough.
November I emailed asking about my order but never get a response. I never got the opportunity to call because of work during the day and being a few time zones away. Early December I noticed his website was down and phone lines and everything disconnected. I asked David of Available Oxygen (his brother I think?) who I heard about weeks after ordering my M-20 who seems like a great person to work with. He confirmed that Unlimited Oxygen was gone and he wasn't sure what Jack was up to.
Basically now I'm past the point where I can dispute with Paypal and I bought with a debit card (mistake n+9000) so disputing with MasterCard is going to be a challange. I put myself in this situation; I bought from an untrustworthy source and dug myself in deeper by being so laissez-faire about the issue for too long. This post is just yet another reminder to watch out for stuff like this. I hope no one else is in the same situation as me.
I'm ready to put this behind me and just suck it up. I live in the Seattle area and go to the Boro School every so often to get my fix. Now just a couple questions:
1. I still want an oxygen concentrator. Is there anyone in the Seattle area that I can buy a concentrator or homefill from? I'd like to deal with people face to face if possible. Or is my best bet something like David from Available Oxygen?
2. Is there someone that lives in Indiana that could knock on Jacks door and steal my M-20 for me?
3. Are there any other good places like the Boro School that rent bench time? $15 and hour is really steep.
This isn't the most exciting or cheery first post but here it is! Also, a huge thanks to this community, I lurk way too much and the people here are so helpful!
Happy Holidays!
Adam

And just so I don't scare everyone away or bore people with this post, here's my favorite piece I've made so far. It was my first hammer bubbler and about my 30th pipe. Thanks for looking.
Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
Sorry for the BS with unlimited oxygen sounds like a crock of shit! Salt city glass has good reviews and answers questions promptly. Idk what torch you are trying to run but SCG sells homefills to where you fill your own tanks with everything included for like 1100-1200? I used a home fill to power my herbie until I got liquid.
Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
Thanks for the reply. I run a gtt bobcat which was less than impressive on an oxycon but it got the job done. For 1200, a home fill maybe the way to go since a torch is the next thing I'll be upgrading. Thanks for SCG suggestion!
Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
Really sorry to hear about this! Although I have to admit, Jack comes off like a really nice guy, but I'm glad he has finally folded. I hate seeing these posts. Hopefully you will be the last. I did a lot of research into concentration a while back, and had decided to get a really nice, really expensive psyclone II with booster from him. Luckily, he robbed several people right around the time I was getting everything ready, and I avoided dealing with him. What torch are you running? That really seems to be the most significant question. If it's something like a Lynx, you can just spend some extra cash on a really nice concentrator like a Regalia. There is also the method of running an oiless compressor to a holding tank to run a large torch, or a homefill, or high volume oxygen, just depending on what your needs and goals are.
Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
I was paying about $50 for a T tank, and sometimes it wasn't coming full. I was trying to run two lynxes, and my options were a homefill, or single powerful concentrators. When I did the math, running two lynxes at full bore for 8 hours would kill one of the tanks. It would take about $12 in total electricity with the homefill, plus maintenance on the homefill and concentrator each year. I ended up buying two regalias because although they were a bigger investment, it only cost about $8 in electricity for the oxy, plus a lot less maintenance. For something like a bobcat I would think about anything would work though.
Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
Hey thanks for all of this! I ran a bocat on an ex-15 for a while and tried one on tanked the concentrator only seemed to push it to maybe 70%. I also felt limited and could not get any sort of good size oxidizing flame. After securing my oxygen solution I'll be upgrading to a redmax or bravo. I'm linking home fill because that may be a more compact solution than the series of concentrators needed for an larger torch but then I'd be dealing with tanks and high pressure. I have to do the math on the electricity usage for both but this is a part time hobby and I pay 5.9 cents per kwh for electricity so I can't imagine that's going to have a big impact on costs over time.
Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
If you plan on upgrading I'd go with the homefil option. Concentrators are a dime a dozen and run for a lot longer than home fills. I filled around 40 tanks with my first one which equaled more than $1400 in tank swaps/refills it was a great way to learn without worry of not creating something that is worthy of a sale. I had 3 K tanks linked together and my regulator tied into the end so I could work while it filled and I could usually get 6-8 hours every 30 hours it takes to fill about 1000-1500 psi (that is when you fill between 1000-1500 psi it puts the "least" strain on the home fill)
Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
I'd like to chime in regarding Salt City Glass. I bought a Homefill and concentrator combo from them over the summer, and I can't tell you how much I love those two folks (Robert and Donna). It's such a pleasure ordering glass from them, and they really go the extra mile. If you're going to go the Homefill route, I wholeheartedly recommend buying from them.
Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
Thanks a lot crassglass! This is all great advice.
Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
Donna and Robert at Salt City Glass are two of the nicest people I have ever done business with. Hands down the most artist friendly and customer service oriented company I use.
Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
Thanks Simian. Just reaffirms what I'm thinking to be the correct way to go.
Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
David from available oxygen is a decent guy I have delt with him several times and never had any issues. Shit he even met me 1/2 (1-2 hour one way drive fr him) way to deliver not once but twice. Also can't go wrong with salt city glass!
I have a post on YouTube with my O2 set up its a little outdated vid but it's not using a home fill its more like the HVO systems. For what I do I get all day outta my system esp since adding another 60gal tank to it. Using a champion.

Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...
Unlimited oxygen kept me on the hook way way way past the reasonable amount of time too. He did Eventually make good and ship. IDK WTH that mans issue is.....why he so shitting with timing. If I had a dime for every time he told me I was Up next and shipping soon it would have cover half the cost of the unit. (though....to his credit when the machine I got Didnt work. and he couldnt figure out why. He shipped me a whole new one right away. The newer one is now like 3 years old and still pluggin away just fine)
2nd's 3rd whatevers David from available oxygen, I got one of his "scratch n dents" IDK what the heck he talkin about machine was perfect and it was shipped and to me in a week!!!!!!!! Bit weird he takes the unit to the shipping place and makes you talk to them to pay for shipping but eh I can deal.
Re: Yet another post about Unlimited Oxygen...

Man I want to remain hopeful that I get that email or call sooner or later but it really sounds like he's totally out right now. No website or phone, nothing. Even David said he is shut down. Makes me sad and frustrated that I waited this long to figure this mess out.
I'm curious if anyone else has heard anything from his oxydoc Comcast email address recently?
Again thanks for all of the help. I gotta straighten some stuff out then hopefully get talking to some of the more trustworthy people mentioned in this thread.
