Dragon's Breath Bowl Push!

As some of you may know, I am a machinist that just started dabbling in melting. In my search for glassworking tools, I noticed that while there was a lot of functionality available- most of the tools are very utilitarian- but not very eye catching. I want to fill that gap, and make tools that are as beautiful as the work they create. With that in mind, here is my first offering- the Dragon's Breath Bowl Push. The brass push and cap, and the stainless steel shaft were designed, programmed, machined, and hand polished to a mirror finish by me in the Pacific Northwest. The handles were purchased from a vendor in Maine, and then stained and finished by me. These are 100% made in America. The shaft is knurled and pressed into the handle, assuring they will not twist or come out. The push is threaded and locked in with high temp high strength Loctite. I have put a lot of thought and a lot of work into these, and I hope it shows. I'm asking $45 plus $5 flat rate shipping, Paypal fees on me. PM me if you're interested. Thanks for looking!

if you ever make them with a slight protrusion (nipple) i'll be buying one for sure. i need a bigger bowl push. only have 3/4" and everyone says they want bigger/deeper bowls.

These are 5/8". Bigger than 3/4 huh? Those are some big bowls! I made some 3/4" ones with a nipple in a different, more traditional design that I wasn't quite happy with. I can pm you some pics if you're interested.

please do! i'd want a 7/8" push if possible. with a 1/8" protrusion.

1/8" long. just enough to catch the bowl hole and keep it centered.

Awesome! I believe there is room for pretty tools in our industry. I have been asking tool makers for years to personalize them somehow.

Some with strait taper would be nice too, that's what I use mainly because of function of finished piece.

While these are pretty I see them being a burnt color after usimg them like all my brass tools hehe. Well that and I tend to cover my brass or steal tools in wax. Beautiful craftsman ship tho.. Well done.

Sorry I haven't gotten you a pic of the 3/4 ones yet, I'll get one up today. Neddoworx, what exactly do you mean by straight taper? And HumanLathe, that burnt look is just a tarnished layer (oxidized), and I'm hoping that with these being so smooth, they will glide easier, not need wax, and clean up with a quick hand buff if they do get tarnished.
