Refurbished LItton HSA Glassblowing Lathe
LItton HSA was originally property of the US Navy, then the University of Oklahoma purchased some lathes from the Government, of the three purchased this one was rarely used by the Universities glass shop. The Scientific glassblower for the university had his big daily driver and the other 2 lathes didn't get much use. It still had the original motor and pulley style variable drive system when I bought it. I tore that old not so variable motor pulley system off and modernized it with a new D/C motor and controller. I also replaced the stub shaft the spins the drive rod to eliminate play between the chucks. I replaced the bearings while doing so. Then I got new Scroll chucks for it. This machine is like new runs perfect and will continue to serve you for many many many years. I also built a custom bench on heavy duty locking caster wheels, the bench has an aluminum top. This makes the lathe easy to move around and transport with a small flatbed trailer. The HSA is a very desirable model that does 99% of what you want to do on a lathe and doesn't require a moving company to move it around. They are built to last forever, Litton's are the Ferrari's of Glass Lathes and hold their value. This lathe was still operating on the old original equipment and worked fine before I upgraded it. Located in Bloomington Indiana not far from ABR imagery. The price is reasonable and FIRM. Sorry I couldn't get my pics to load, kept getting an error, check facebook glassifieds for the pics?
