boss!
can i ask if you used contour/scalloped tubing or iso layed stingers?
You already asked =]. Iso, all fume/clear except the backing.
you silly man...lol. very very cool pendant though.
JFC... I really need to get some gold.
hell go to a pawn shop, jewelry store or one of those creepy "we buy/sell gold" stores to get some. most jewelers will have casting grain...looks like gold shot and will sell it by the gram. they might look at you funny at first, but after going to my local jeweler for this exact reason, and then explaining what i do with it, the proprietor bought some mibs for his window :)
Nodice...jesus christ man, It's beautiful!!!
That's what she said.
Nice one, nodice!

I realize the bend isn't perfect this was a piece I saved from looking like crap. Anyone got any tips on striking? I always end up with spots where the fume goes transparent im working on schott so fumings a bitch.

And something a little nicer. Again though I think a better striking cycle would bring the colors out more. I usually strike multiple times at 1150 and 1100 with crashes down to 800 between. After a cycle I can barely tell anything changed it usually takes 10 cycles to get to a 3d look so I must be doing something wrong. Or schott just sucks.

Jewelry works in a pinch. Ask mom, sisters, girls in general for old stud earrings or a broken gold chain. I have had limited success all the way down to 10k. My experience has been that the first couple fumes are random color and occasionally ugly, but the impurities seem to burn out first and eventually I am left with gold. Again, this is a total jank way to go, but it's a possibility. Sterling will work for silver, first fume will be ugly, one time I got black fume which was interesting.
Also, gold lasts a long time as long as you keep your fuming flame low. 6.5 years who I spent $200 on metal, one big fat silver coin and one tiny krugerrand, each $100. I still have enough silver for years to come and I bet my coin is still 1/5 of its original size.
Also, BSA is my favorite for fume, which I think I said before.
dOprah Im speechless. Holy balls that piece is beautiful. Rep for blowing my mind.
WOW! This thread took off. I had a feeling people would jump on board. I have a lot of pics to upload. Luckily, there is plenty of eye candy to go around. Thanks for posting everyone. What an epic thread.

Got a bunch of them here. I apologize to anyone who's my friend on Facebook for having to look at these twice.
I'll start with some surface fume. Getting back to the roots of fuming with these.

Now some inside out stuff.
Wanted to see how many dots I could get cleanly into a pocket hammer. Got 200 on this one. 4 inches long.

Having fun messing around with the optics with these. I've been enjoying messing around making things thick and seeing how that effects how they look. I'm hoping the shops will like them too.
