Great submissions this year. This is so cool to see all this work represented so nicely. Photographing the vortex ones I have found to be challenging in my experience.
agreed, it's sometimes hard to show the depth of the vortex.
Thanks guys! I'm really glad to present pictures of everyone's submissions in a relatively standardized format.
I'd be happy to hear tips from anyone on how to better show off vortexes (vortices?) and dichro. Or general comments on ways to improve the images for that matter.
It looks like one of the two last outstanding packages will be delivered Friday. I'm hoping to do the exchanges on Saturday and then begin packing them up for shipping to their new homes.
With dichro, use less light.... no flash.
With the vortexes turn them a little tiny bit to one side, or use a light set off to the side to get the shadows...

If you set aside one marble a month for a year you'd be ready with the max number of entries.
(that's my plan for the next year, BTW since I'm otherwise prone to procrastination)

I'm actually entering shipping info tonight. Probably won't get finished with that until tomorrow, but everything is sorted and packages will be ready to mail on Monday.
