Re: Nomad's Work, Critique, talk, etc....
Love my digital calipers, best $15 I ever spent...of course, they keep me from exploding my hand, so I'm bound to have some affection :p
Stations are looking great. I think a bullseye pattern would be kinda neat with 'em

I'm going to have to find more customers I think.

Probably need to elaborate on that a bit.
Lemme rephrase, flake is probably no big deal. Not many crevices to hide anything funky, but I'd stay away from anything bigger than that

This 2 1/4 spin station spins really well.

All the pipes are sold but I retail spin stations for $60 each on Facebook.
I promised I could help others find a distributor also. I get a lot of messages asking how to get hooked up. So just hit me up if you need help. Pictures help if you want my critique.

video or it doesnt spin...lol just kidding but a function video would be really sweet. Maybe of your most spinny one.

Re: Nomad's Work, Critique, talk, etc....
Nomad, on those spin stations, how much of a bowl/concave is there on the spinning surface? is there a center pin hole that the tops spin in, or does the top travel around the whole surface while spinning?
got a video?
i've got to make a few in the galaxy/nebula style today and am not sure what the very top surface should look like. thanks in advance!

Re: Nomad's Work, Critique, talk, etc....
I have questions too because these spin stations are totally new to me. I didn't even know it's a thing.
Could you post a short video of the top spinning on one? Thanks!

Re: Nomad's Work, Critique, talk, etc....
Get a top and experiment with it is all I can say. You want the top to spin to the center and not wobble. The concave is the hardest part. I made like 10 rejects at first. Either too little concave or too much. It should have a small concave.

I can't post videos. I have to make YouTube videos to do that. I can experiment in a bit.

hrmm concave you say, interesting. Yeh harp, never seen one of these before nomad posted them either. Your experimental youtube video worked for my computer. I was under the impression the top was soposed move around as it spun. But the concave is soposed to keep it around the middle i guess? Maybe the more still it stays the longer it will spin.

Re: Nomad's Work, Critique, talk, etc....
Yes they like borosilicate glass because it spins longer. The more expensive tops spin for 20 minutes. Mine is a beginner top and spins 3-5 minutes about.
