i wish you would post pictures straight to the thread. i know the video is a much more thorough form of documentation, but I (and many people i know) view this website from their phone and the video makes it hard to check out your work(which is solid)
how are the scientific classes going? post some pics of your apparatus!

arrr you know them? they suck big time making them, my meister is so about the measurements, and i hate sealing in the 10mm standard wall tubing...
the next thing i must do is ground joints male and female, at first by hand then with a maschine from HA, after that comes the grinding so they fit
:D
yeah i had to make them awhile ago. and learn to love the standard wall man!
did you form that aqua azul joint?
is one from GA but i made some joints with the ha mashine a week ago but its difficult to operate like riding a bycicle , playing piano and reading a book at the same time :D
i like the standard wall but hate it on 10mm, with this seal,.... crooked motherfuckers :)
Yay pictures I can look at!
:D
Nice aqua azul piece. Did you coilpot that or use aqua azul tube? Came out smooth looking if it was potted. That turquoise is one of my favorite colors.
i used the tube from ga, but it had different wallthickness so i had to condense and reblow it
another drop trap

Steak,
Man, this is an awesome progression thread. You have truely shown real progress and in the process I'm sure you taught a lot of people new tricks and tips.
I know it's been a long time since you posted your shop pics, but I just wanted to say how jelous I am of that window. I wish I had a window in the shop like that. Keep up the good work, your new pipes are outstanding!
I like your style Frank.
The agua bowl in post 449, has an interesting push. Is that meant to used with gauze?
hi thx for the kind words, i think you could use a gauge on it, but it works without, it not a big hole like 2,5mm or so
i think i reamed it a bit too much so it looks like this, cause the bowl push did not push it down completely
kind regards
Love the unique handles on your slides and domes and such
Really like what you are doing. On the pictures with the anstecker, what material are you using to serve as a spacer on the inner tube that can withstand the heat? Also, what kinds of respiration protection do you use when applying the material or more importantly, when you are removing the tape afte making your seals?
many thanks.

hi theese are sections i made for a customer wich will be assembled into a tube on the lathe by merlin bong
the customer picked the colourscheme
i hope he will be happy
im gonna upload some pics after work
kind regards
Ps: the anstecker is only there to hold the inner tube in place and is removed after the seal on the top is made, its just tape nothin special nothin heatresistant
because that wont get hot there ;)
here are some pics of things, some scientific stuff, a friend from denmark visited me and told me to make an oil rig , he brought some silverwire so i finally could test out fuming

my safetyglasses were falling apart and werŽnt anymore comfortable the frame was damaged and burned etc , so i popped out the lenses, got old sunglasses and popped out the lenses there too for measurements, then i went to our grinders and sanded the old lenses so that they fit, voila new pair of safety glasses, and this frame even fits my head better than the old one
:D

i starts snowing here in germany, greetings to you all :D
here is somethin from school but a fun one, i need to make 5 of theese discs in a row on 30mm std wall tubing
Attachment 44324
:D
neato, how did you do that?
cool art how about some pictures of your flame interested to see
pull points on 30mm tubing, real straight points, then make one side flat and pop a hole in it, put aside
take another point of 30mm tubing and pop a hole in the end and ream it open to tubing size and make a tiny flare like 1mm
so that it fits on the first point, then take both points and stick them together
then introduce to a tiny sharp flame and melt the flare onto the edge of the point with the hole
roll on marver if desired and blow into
you want to have it like a 30mm tubing with no ridges where the disc is
then take off the point and make it flat again, pop hole and so on
it takes a little practice to get nice thin discs wich are not too chunky
and a bit more practice to make lots of them in a row wich should look all the same , and still be straight when you spin the point, in your hands
my task ist 5 discs in a row with a centered 4 mm hole in each one, each disc is 20mm spaced apart from the other ones, the discs should as thick as the wall thickness of the used tube, and my teachers are picky so i make a lot just to practice :D
flame pics, i use a 40mm herbert arnold running on natural gas(in school at home on propane) and oxi and compressed air, for the discs i use a tiny sharp flame like 5mm wide
sorry about that my computer was showing me old posts from 2010 when this thread started.
Awesome work.. great progression thread for sure.
thats a sweet lesson with all sorts of skills involved. your teachers sound really good
