Sunshine on gold fume... but it is under a color tube as well.

Man love the Jabba, and the orb entity. Here are some pics from my first attempt at a carved minitube. Technically the 2nd or 3rd minitube ever that came out without any cracking or joint issues... BTW I used a removable drop stem, 14mm male to 10 female... with the hand formed joint only a few of them would fit properly, many were lose and when comparing them the taper and lengths were all off by a mm or two... Only 2 of the 5 of 8 I had fit the same. I am going to have to start comparing drop stems to the male joints I use to finish the sizing... AAAAAnd/or just make fixed stems... but I like removable ones...doh Next one I will have to go thicker and use various layers of clear to get a depth I am looking for. After I started carving I think I have finally become proud of my work, even with the refinements that will be required, it is nice to feel good about your work regardless if its moving or not.
