i think that was actually preemptive defensiveness before anyone could talk trash about the seals. or fishing for the "naa man those look fine" complement.
whats with the blob on top of the curve for anyways? i don't understand it

it was pure sarcasm, in that i think my seals are fine. i still havent had any come back as defective. i've put out many dozens at least. the odd curve breaks, but thats predictable. i'm working on making them less breakable. be nice to have them almost never break.
as for the blob, the curve will be completed by the addition of metal attachements to facilitate a hinge system used to attach a vapor creation system involving a titanium hotplate. the blob on top is the wrap attachement nub.
yea but what does heating ti up and inhaling the fumes do to you anyone know? and when heating it up arnt you just huffing in the offgas from torch or whatever your useing to heat the pad? oh and my only advice man is just push your envelope a little more and it will develop your work and style so much more. i know its easy to get into whats compfy and makes the cash but every once in a while push yourself and bust out somthing that really pushes your skills. without doing that your style will seem to lag and become a bit stagnent as i kinda see it. not hating just saying you can push yourself and build more skills that will help you in lots of ways when you go bak to making these little units. there i was polite and everything...lol oh and your seals look good to me you just wanna always make sure you have a nice even wall between pieces.
here's more, hope you hate em, or whatever it is that gets you off.

hey kut, how big are those things anyways?
Albino: ive thought about it alittle. the conclusion i came to is when your heating it with the torch both it and the torch are off-gassing into the room at large (not a big problem). once your drawing off the unit it should be pretty well under the temp at which is releases gas. so it should be fine.
All the new units are lookin good but I am really enjoying this one:

Thanks for sharing!
Kut, that looks Awesome, what colors did you you use in this last one? Did you have to kiln strike to get those to POP like that.....I'am really digging the white and blue too!! Man its probably my favorite I love that super clean look and the wags. Awesome Brotha ....I like the glasswithclass one too!.....Those horns are sik!...
Cool Kut. I didn't want to assume anything and thanks for not taking it the wrong way. I do like the work, but on the east side of the states, we have little use for these. Hard to find wax and oils.
gotta make yer own prolly, i never found any here either.
headi, its a full on english ivy unit, and its partially kiln struck, but mainly in the flame, especially for the attachements. fairly raunchy oxy flame all the time.
keep ragin it Kut, love your passion, pc
Thx for sharing Kut, Awesome work!.....I really like the way you flame struck the attachment 's Sweeett looks very Ku!...again Thx for sharing and I just bought a lb. Or maybe it was 2 lbs of English Ivy yesterday from MGA sale....now I know what to expect for color ....just Awesome!.
Oh and Brotha when you say Raunchy Oxy flame do you mean a lot of oxy, .....Or some oxy and a lot of propane?....Thx
Wow kut these last three units are amazing! I know someone will be very happy to get one of these! Is my time up again?
THOSE SPIKES ARE SICK!
you gotta tell me how you did that dichro mib attachment haha
great work man
thanks keys, its a steel wool retti, not dichro. kinda messy retti, but nonetheless, my description :)
yup yup new ones are lookin good.. dig the colors too
lovin the oil colored oil unit! what colors did you use to get that effect? it looks great man!
(we really need a  smiley)
I can't take my eye off that steel wool unit. Perfect shape and size for sure. I really dig the ggirl style mouthpiece on these three.
That wasn't trash talk, it was constructive criticism. In other words, trying to be helpful. The seals aren't specifically bad, but on that clear piece in particular, I can see remnant of a seal. A good seal doesn't look like a seal at all. I like your work, I want to see it improve. I want to see all of our work improve, that's how the medium as a whole gets better.
ya, i'm welding a female in there recessed, and i'm definitely no expert, but practice makes it get better. none have broken so far, so i dont see why i should go back and learn the basics like you suggested before. i'm just gonna keep practicing recessing these. i am just getting to the point that i can do not bad seals on clear joins now. this afternoon i'm gonna try my first tenmm recess. sounds tuff.
Why is that shape so popular for oil, meaning the mouthpiece stem almost being part of the can?? Does that ever cause splashback?
Seems like a regular bub design would work well for these, but its not often used(regular bub meaning long can bubble on bottom and stem attached at the top of the can section.)
no splashback. that little blue one came close but doesnt if filled properly. it allows the proper fill level. i'm not sure if the style you mention is good or not for this, all i know is its pretty much - the smaller the better is the main thing that is important. if one made a really small one like you said it'd prolly work good too.
lookin good!
i thought the design would splash but was pleasantly surprised to find no splashback even when pulling air forcefully.
I don't think I could have summed up the problems that the pipe field faces quite so succinctly myself. Truly, you have given them voice.Quote:

i'm not sure if you are misinterpreting me on purpose, but feel free, i don't really care. i feel i have a good grasp of basic skills. i have some good books and have read them lots, and always work towards doing better work, so i improve. like i said, if it dont break, dont have to fix it.
Swampy means he wants pics of your sister.. Maybe one of her holding a "unit" lol
I watched one of your swing arms get killed tonight. Some one stuck their ti plate in front of my delta while I was working (lol) and the spoke vaporized :( oops.
Dude who owns it was pretty bummed.
hahahahahaha bet he had a smile on his face then a sad face haha classic
whoops:chilling:
^^^^ yep! gong joints just make it harder to get out then doing large amounts.. but if ur only doing a lil bit then there ok... i need to get those huge joints for extractors then itd be blingin
mountain glass and a few others sell really large ones.
i just use a 3ft piece of 50x5 flared a bit at end closed off on the other,, wrks great..
