Lookin' good, Bones
http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...c3d9cf662c.jpg
Fillacello first attempt. Lost it on the disc flip on the janky tube I was working on. Watched a eusheen webinar to get the idea, but a little in the dark about some subtleties you can't quite see in the vid. Any tips appreciated on keeping the lines even/sharp/crisp. Definitely something I'm going to practice for a minute. Thanks og gloccoma for the heads up.

Re: Lookin' good, Bones
All I can say is to work on stringer control, making sure you pull good stringers to start with, when you lay your lines in... Push right up next to the color in the little crevice. More oxy tighter flame probably... Wish I had enough colors to attempt one of these.... been thinking REALLY hard about making a glass order specifically for some Roygbiv colors to take a crack at this.

2nd attempt

Pattern is still not symmetrical.
Still lost it on the disc flip.

3rd attempt (the greys are mint hot shot)
I can NOT keep this pattern symmetrical. Still working on it. Trial and error. I can lay the first 12 lines then get confused laying the last 6 black and the next set of white. After that I'd be good, but when to draw the white on the left or right of the guideline I can't translate to where it will end up on the design. I should be ok after a little more practice I think these will just take a little time and practice.
This last one cracked so I snapped a pic real quick before things got too nasty. I was ready to start the next one and get it right anyway. Disc flip is getting easier and gathering the clear tube. I wasn't getting it hot enough to even back out.

Any tips on termination point? I think maybe I'm using too thick wall tubing or not tearing out enough design but I can't get the clear out the middle so far.

Re: Lookin' good, Bones
You have to take ALOT of the design out to make sure that clear spot disappears. Are you doing two lines around your tube first to give you a starting point and working the entire design on an even section of the tubing???
If you are I would fill the top section of the filla right at your top guideline where all your points are going to terminate with some color you can easily see. Then make sure you get ALL of that color off the termination, it kills me to terminate rettis cause I have precious little color and there is a relative amount of waste. But if you want it to look right you've got to waste some...
Far as your melt in goes, you need a BIG bubble you want the edges of your filla to be on the Front half of the equator which means you'll have to heat an equal amount of your tube to the amount of it that's colored.
And of course I'm not as practiced as you so take what I say with a grain of salt but these are the tips I would give you

Re: Lookin' good, Bones
I'll waste that shit I don't care. Yes I'm following the eusheen webinar very closely up until black line 14/15. Then I can't see what he's doing and get lost on my pattern and just start filling shit in

Re: Lookin' good, Bones
Lol, stay diligent through the whole process. It take eusheen multiple hours to do his fillas for a reasons. Maticulous attention to detail is key.
Simplify the pattern, work your way up into adding multiple sets of color to each space.

This thing is jank. It does stand up straight, the table is crooked, but I'm not about to defend it. That's about all it does. These aren't the easiest thing to make!

Nice goblet,
Go on and show more please.
As I am not in the pipe bussines I just love to make goblets since many years.
I like to see others work.

Re: Lookin' good, Bones
Then maybe you can help give me tips on how to disconnect from the tube evenly? Does it just take finesse? I'm thinking perhaps a blow hose will help, but maybe my wall thickness isn't quite as even as it should be so it is disconnecting unevenly? I'm babbling. I haven't attempted it enough to be asking questions yet. I will try more! Can you link me some of your work, glassmax? edit - got off tapatalk and i can see your website now. thank you!

Re: Lookin' good, Bones
Hi Paul,
As always, when you know how its done, itīs just a matter of practise.
Here some You tube vids wher you can see different ways:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZG8psXtaZNE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LweUhQmvjM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iAdkp2C1hE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rWzP-rtNhY
You dont need a hand torch to do that.
I could not find a vid about the technique how I disconnect the cups.
I donīt do mit with those "scissors".
Melt a small section right at the end of the ready blown cup or foot. Then blow this out very thinn while streching.
Now you can break this off carefully.
Next you go on as shown in the vids.

Thanks very much! Very helpful :)

Re: Lookin' good, Bones
The final vid has helped the most. Thank you for sharing. I had seen the other two but flaring with a tool is something I'm not extremely practiced with yet and always leave too many toolmarks.

I'm so stoked for you brother. You're progress shows, just think what you'll be doing a year from now. Keep rockin brotha.

Shop isn't set up yet. Just enough to get my torch lit. I'm so close to being back up and running. Moving sucks. Here's a Moai I made this morning waiting on the electrician. Might make a cool chess set with the right details. I am gonna have to think about this.

This was more involved than I thought it would be. What can I say? With friends like these!! I'm all set up and ready to go. Lighting in the shop is minimal so that's next along with glass storage racks. Maybe next weekend! Super stoked to be getting settled in to my new place out of the ghetto. No longer do I have to drive 40 mins each way to go burn. I was getting in at 2 am and getting up at 6 for work. Not no mo bitches! And away we go!
