Re: Fresh out of the kiln
Got inspired by the "drugs inc" moonshine episode last night. Figured I would mess around with some Ole Smokey jugs. I need to refine it, but I think the idea is there.
My pair of jugs:

I figured I would put a cork in them and a little water to look like shine. I also made a solid one for a carb cap/pendant after that pic.

Re: Fresh out of the kiln
^That is so sick, great idea!If I ever have time to mess around I wanted to do a moonshine still rig.

Re: Fresh out of the kiln
Shawnette, is that a name of a Tec? "glaskolben?"
Either way, sweet fume? Maybe? Like some type of soot scratch?
Is it a certain color? Especially good looking on the first full skull.
I guess if I look really really close, I see what's up. (guess.... fume color with outside art melted in fully)
Really well executed , almost thought it was grail (sp?) sandblasting tricks at first.

Re: Fresh out of the kiln
it's a brand of COE 96 (or are they 90?) pre pulled points. they're mainly for soft glass workers who want to make easy xmas ornaments, or so i understand.
seeing as much as they sell for, i've considered taking my 99coe clear tube, pulling points then anneal and sell. they'd probably sell, and i doubt i'll ever use the tube. i just bought it due to never seeing it for sale, anywhere (other then the glasskolben).

Re: Fresh out of the kiln
Almost like some type of modified space fume tube... Really interesting.
I need to up my outside art game. Even if the patterns in question are pre made , incased fume, whatever it is.
Need my " feather work" to look more like feathers.

Glaskolben are 90COE pre-pulled points for ornaments, like ISA mentioned. I rolled rolled it in frit (Reichenbach Gold Brown & Iris Amber) and blew it into my mold. Just playing with some new ideas on how to use them. I have a bunch left over from a bulk buy I held last year.
I really like the way they turned out, so I can see a bunch of these in my future.
When you feather, are you using a pick? If so, try using a clear stringer, instead. (Pulled to a point)

Thx , yeah np it's backed with a thin layer of europastar and I use my s4 phone as my camera , clean lens , clean glass and good light, sometimes low light no flash for a different look at the dichroic

I really like the reflection although I still can't figure out why the pic server picks some to turn sideways?

Re: Fresh out of the kiln
I know I can lock my screen, and load it, and its usually fine.
Not sure why it changes them randomly as of late.
I just took a fresh screen shot, of the problem pic, in the right configuration. Then I just post said screen shot.<An annoying extra step, but so far so good.
