Yes. I usually start with 20-30 images and make a composite.

Don't toy with my emotions mister. If you would really do it, I will send you forty pictures.
So you up for a collab on this Chris? I could put the pictures together and you stack the sticks...
ok, I'm a huge Marley fan, I'd love to have a shot at buying whatever you make with that! I'm dead serious! If i can't buy direct from you at least point me in the direction of where to go for that! A Bob marble on my desk at work would rock!
you're the man!
D
would it be stupid of me to ask if this is boro or soft glass? Cant wait to see this one when its done!
I agree, if you're going to pull it, slice it and make marbles I love the chance to purchase one.
I have documented every step of my learning process.. through twitter, faceback, all public. I have maintained a website and blog for 9 years, with hundreds of pictures documenting the process. I have never turned anyone away from coming to my studio and explaining exactly what I do. I have shunned teaching in favor of answering any questions on the spot, be it email, telephone, or skype. I have made you tube videos that have 25 years combined experience in techniques, kiln schedules, and generally living as a glass artist. There are two forum posts that I have made that describe in detail exactly how and why I make what I do. They are epic. I also have had a webcam pointed at everything I do during the process for the last 6 years.
You could click on my user name, or do a Google search to find out
everything I have put up on the Internet, with 2 mouse clicks. Dude. 2 mouse clicks.
There is nothing more I can do for you than come to your place and make
everything for you. I didn't post this in techniques and tips.
I'm also raising a kid and putting my wife through med school. Please let me know what I should be doing better for you, Mr. random person from the internet.
Sorry Chris, didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. I would love to search more on this but I have no clue what tech this is or what it's called that you are doing here. That's partly why I asked if it was a milli thing or something different I have never heard of. Still learning the features of this board so I'll have to browse through your stuff. Sounds like you have a full plate so I won't bug you any more.
Well put Chris.
Go to his website dude. Glasskitchen.com
I even saved you one of those pesky time consuming clicks.
Take your time mate, Chris really is an amazing bloke, as are many others on here. An amazing collective depth of knowledge, it's all there if you take your time.
So, there's an old bull and a young bull standing at the top of a field, admiring all the young cows quietly grazing down in the valley.
Young bull; "Hey let's run down there, leap on a cow and shag the arse off it..."
Old bull; "Let's take all day to stroll down there and shag all of them, one at a time..."
http://www.glasskitchen.com now it's one click.
And it's indeed epic sir.

Chris, wonderful work and thanks for posting. I wish geographic proximity equated to similar skill sets. Alas it always boils down to hard work and PPP.
Jay, WTF is that in your avatar. Seriously dude. That can't be good.
CJ, you fuckin rule man, thanks for those educational links, I learned something today! PS....*gasp*....no Beatles murrine yet? ;)
how small a diameter can you pull your murrine down to before they lose their detail?
http://www.glasskitchen.com/port/05/all.jpg ;)
Going small.. we have pulled some down to stringer size. Under a loupe, it was perfect. Loren Stump suggested that they could be pulled down to electron microscope levels, and I'm inclined to believe him, but I just had the loupe.
OK now ..... What about the titty mib!
