I don't find that shade 3s are enough protection for much of anything. Maybe if you're sticking to items under an inch in diameter... If your workspace is too dark, I suggest to get more lighting.
i have a pair of 3's and 5's. The 3's scare me that i'm not gettin the protection i need.. All i use is one shop light with 2 daylight full spectrum bulbs.
So, what are 386's?
Are they 3's?
I had Phillips shade 5's and I used to peek over the top because they were too dark. But then I ditched them because of nose pad meltdowns.
I bought a pair of Aura Lens 386's and I haven't even once had a complaint about them. I got them through Glasscraft about 5 years ago. Downtown frames.
Thanks guys! I don't plan on going very big, especially at first, and vision is huge on my list of things that are important.... I think I'll go with the shade 3's =)..... Now I just need to get my hands on a Kiln.... annyone have a good benchtop front loading kiln they want to part ways with??
