Better than Gilson? This should be interesting.... are you making opals now too :)
whatcha talkin' bout Abe, and where can i buy some? :)
I think he was talking about the Japanese ones made by Morio
Kyocera makes the new baller ones I have seen. I got one that was 3.0 grams SOLID fire red and also a really cool purple/green raw opal. They had color like no other opal I have used in the past 10 years.
I was interested :twitch: when i heard that there were new baller opals out there other than Gilson and it sounded as though perchance they were compatible with glass so i decided to do some research. so i looked up Morio and opals, came across a few pics, but for the most part found Kyocera or "kyoto opals." Kyocera refers to their opals as an "opal material composite." the main supplier of Kyocera opals is Sanwa Pearl & Gem based in HK who refers to it as a Polymer Impregnated synthetic opal. :bangHead:
so Gilson really is the only way to go and the jewelry grade is insanely baller.:D
the kyocera, ones are boro compatible, make sure to get pure synthetic though and not some of the ones that are cut with resin that are on ebay for instance.
pics or it didn't happen
