That goldfish is sweet I only wish they were boro.
Great work, love the cat! It's amazing the shading you can achieve with soft glass, stick with the soft for murrini, boro can't touch it.
Can't wait to see your progression over the next year....make sure you keep up with your murrini a week!
I am going to try a few boro this Summer saving for a torch and Oxy. I am looking for a torch with a hot center that can melt smallish boro for painting details and larg enough to melt a 3" gather for pulling. Leaning toward a Scorpion or a Bravo. I dont think investing in more national tips is the way to go. would love any feedback on a good boro murrini torch that will still not evaporate soft glass.

New Cat
get a phantom/mirage. its probably the best torch for the scale your going for. im a beth fanboy, i love them but gtts win hands down for solid work.
Yes the Mirage looks like an awesome murrini maker. I'm going to have to sell allot of glass this summer to get one of those. Pinpoint flame for detail and the melting power of a dragon. No more hour long periods of spinning a 3" gather to get it soft enough to pull

great work! Any in progress pics before the pull? check out the Millefiori Artists, Collector and ADDICTs Group on fb if you havent yet. Tons of inspiration there.

Amazing!
I'd swear you had real fish skewered in that last pic.
Your cats are great too.
great work. so i imagine you must make two large gobs of clear to pull with when you stretch those hey? like huge even..
I put a whole rod on each end of the gather to keep them from pulling sideways.
