No questions, answers, remarks, from the the author of the thread after 3 pages?
i give this magazine about 12months. dont' forget - the more oil you huff the better your glass becomes. oh, and i own one dog and about 15k worth of cats ;)
It's a hoax
Good thinking mer!
Tom
Yes, good work Mer.
god, i can't believe i just read that arrogant shit for the second time
i just re-read it too...dude mix in some spellcheck with that attitude
"Suck it Flow"? Articles on the production and use of federally controlled substances? Articles on soon to be illegal "legal highs"?
Were ya trying for shady or does it come natural? Pardon the pun but the term "vaporware" comes to mind. At best, I'm seeing underground labor of love, not commercial success here. Photocopy and staples, or a janky PDF with graphic design by Microsoft Word Art. Who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised...
dont forget to add titties to the list of things your "lampworking" mag needs! No seriously, at this point all you need is a lovely centerfold and you could rename the whole mag Glass, Grass, and Ass monthly. Also, talk about how things suck more. Whining is like deer piss to readers...
...
Mer and Wil you are both old weirdo fuckz
seriously! just combine all genres in one place. Now we're on to something!! To hell with demographics! Lets capitalize on the gray zones! Could we also add something on which glues to huff? sounds like some glue huffing is in order...
should I have put all that in orange? I feel like orange designating sarcasm was recently mentioned somewhere haha
No, orange is the colour of the scarves them doods wear when they chant Hari Hari and sarcasm is probably the furthest thing from their mind when they
They should try wrapping newspaper around their heads... makes 'em look deep.

While I think that a boro mag for pipers would be cool I also think that it would best serve the community to focus on glass pipes and our culture only.
I'm older and do remember OPD and it was a nightmare for this industry.
I also think that instead of lamb basting Adam that maybe explaining your positions on this without the anger would help him better guide his efforts toward improving the community with his idea.
I got that he was just playing a joke and i think most of you know that and have blown the whole suck it flow comment out of proportion. We have a culture here for being jokers and poke fun at people and things all day.
I'll flip through HT if it's there but won't buy it. I am subscribed to the flow and Glassline and would welcome another glass mag that was focused on the piper culture and art.
First impressions are important and this is a prime example but maybe we could put a lid on all the vitriol and venom and just relay our thoughts like adults so Adam has a better shot of hitting the mark for us and not against our culture.
Slinger's degenerate art has banjo mentioning Maryjane and wondering when the prohibition will end in it's content and I didn't see any hate headed his way. So lets try and be supportive and help guide this guy into port. It sounds to me like he is interested in giving the community another resource and i support that!
did slingers documentary tell you how to cook up extracts?
I dunno...this mag sounds a little bit too much like tokecity...
mmmmmm, lamb basting
and PS... there already is a new pipemaker oriented magazing that has a few issues out already:
http://hotbreathmagazine.com/page/home
/\ Thank you Slinger for that link and info.
There's also Glass Aficionado which is great and full of pipes, although I personally haven't seen a new one in awhile.
I apologize Slinger for getting the facts wrong.
I guess i just assumed he was referring to MJ. I have only seen the trailer and can't wait to see the full thing. What I have seen so far is amazing. I actually was holding up your movie up as a positive step toward changing perceptions about glass artists. Again I'm sorry i misconstrued your film.
I would have been more of a dick if someone perverted my baby.
I hate having to ride that fine line for what we all know is up! It seems ridiculous and especially to us older guys who have seen bad shit happen. The articles about making BHO is a bad idea for just that reason. Standing up for reality is really fucking scary when you have a family and responsibilities!
has anybody seen this mag? maybe it's temporary but all of the links on the page are broken and i believe there is a missing graphic where the mag cover should be? anybody now who is putting it together? curious for sure!
glass aficionado has been gone for a long time but i liked the model, all big pics, straight glass porn! died for lack of a distribution network (mostly). i hope somebody makes another run at this model.
the links work for me, you can read the current issue online,,, i just checked the links again, and i see the cover pic too...
i dont know if this is an industry mag or how they are putting it out, i only seem to see it at trade shows..., its not bad though, imo, especially for just starting out...
maybe i need to clean up my tabs or something, the cover is there for me but the links still won't load anything. perhaps i am impatient? thanks for sharing regardless!
I've seen an ink and paper copy of the hot breath issue with Merc on the cover, so I know its for real.. but don't know much more about it. It may be kind of an insider thing right now, the one I saw was sent as an unsolicited sample to a shop owner I know. Overall it seems pretty similar to Aficianado. Bummed to hear that one's gone, I had heard it was just our local shop that stopped carrying it. I think I've got the first 3 issues did it go on past those?
the link works for me.
mer are you hitting the picture of the mag cover to get access or trying to hit the tabs on the right?
there is some good reads it appears. i read the article salt wrote from the bern gallery and it was well done.
nice job luken.
safari :depressed you fail me again.
^ I'm using safari and it's working fine.
Met the owner of HotBreath at the CK show ... he's the one that hooked me up with a movie pass for Slingers movie. Great mag, got a copy around here somewhere. It is real fosho!
Kevin is a nice fella, over at Hot Breath. It's a nice industry mag, with a glass minded focus. It's worth checking out, no doubt.
Okay, having read all pages, I'm still encountering a few problems with the OP post as well as the responses. Is this really a joke? Or is this for real with a few bad ideas thrown in along the way that sounded great post-safety break? I'm a big fan of the Flow, I'd have picked up a subscription by now had I the funds for it, and I think another glass mag to add to the community would be a great addition, provided the content was worth the money and possession of such a magazine didn't add any more questionable aspects to an already risky profession. I'm a piper and it's hard enough to look legit even when your resources AREN'T plastered with MJ advocacy articles. And sure, we all know what's up, but the people who REALLY know what's up are the ones who have been fucked legally and know where we have to tip-toe around issues and where, as pipers, we are or are not safe. Which is why I defer to their knowledge. I'm a n00b, I accept this, and I wasn't part of OPD on any level, so I don't know what nasty shit-storm that OPD brought down on this industry. But I'm learning and I'm not trying to take the industry any steps back. So to that end...
I lovingly support the idea of another magazine contributing to all of our knowledge-base, provided it can do so in a non-incriminating fashion. Articles about earwax and BHO can be left out, thank you very much, and if you want to see such articles published, write 'em up and send 'em along to High Times. Let's keep that off our glass until it hits the consumer's hands, at which point it is no longer OUR glass. We play the game enough, let's keep our hands clean, shall we?
All that aside, keep the mag about glass and you'll all be kosher. And, provided that this ISN'T a joke, I think contacting The Flow would be the best move possible. That way there would be no hard feelings within the industry, and on top of that, you guys could communicate about content and that way coinciding issues would not have repeated or conflicting information. Doing that would, in fact, diversify the content, expand your potential consumer base, and you'd still be able to keep the magazines topical and relevant within the community without having any given consumer saying "oh I can buy The Flow for that info..." or "33>104 just doesn't have what I'm looking for..." etc.
I'm trying to take this idea seriously, because I want to see it happen. But I've read this whole thread now and it seems the tags alone indicate how professionally people are treating the idea. And maybe a sammich did need serving after all. But yes, perhaps PR and editing would be the best starting point from here on out.
PS. I'm totally a cat person.
Speaking of Hotbreath magazine, I ended up picking up a copy (Issue 2) for free somehow, and while it's entertaining enough, there's something hilarious on page 91. You'll know it when you see it :)
