My name is Michael, i have been working with glass for about 3 months at this point. I work as a manager and salesman for a large natural stone importer in virgina during the day and stay up half the night painting, playing guitar and trying to absorb as much knowledge about my new glass addiction as possible. believe me, i am completely addicted. 32 years old, married with two kids. I think that about covers it.

My name is Jay, 32 years old, married and have a 2 year old girl. I live in southwest Florida. I am a General Contractor building residential homes. Been doing that and real estate since I was 18. Due to the lull in the housing market I have had some extra free time so I decided to give glass blowing a shot.

I loved looking at glass at music festivals. Someone mentioned a place in my area that taught flameworking, and after about a year and a half I finally decided to give it a try. I was hooked right away. That was just in late August, so I'm a real newbie. I've been posting photos online for friends and family: http://www.emceeart.com/glass/pics.htm
Nothing too exciting yet, as you might imagine. :)
Hey folks welcome to the best place to hang!
Have fun in the archives, share your ideas & questions but most of all; have fun and enjoy yourselves!
Hey all,
Jason, 34, from Eugene.
I'm a medical technologist. When you piss in a cup at the doctor's, I'm the guy that gets to look at it under a microscope.
Did some lab glass repair in school about 10 years ago and always wanted to get more into it for my own purposes. Been doing off-hand for the past couple years, and started taking flameworking classes about 6 months ago. I'm just getting around to setting up shop in the garage, so any unsolicited tips and tricks are appreciated.
Take it easy.
welcome! :blowkiss:
Hey Everyone! I'm new to the forum, and new to hot glass. I've been playing around with a hothead and soft glass for about a year, not consistantly. I just got a "real" torch (yikes) and some oxygen concentrators and am finally getting more familiar with the whole set up. I've been searching the archives of the forum for answers to all the questions that I've been dying to know! *LOL*
What a great place for information.....the entertainment is just a bonus! Checking out the amazing things you guys make just makes me want to practice, practice, practice! I am a florist by day- and am in Santa Fe. What a fun group!
Hey everyone, I've been a collector for a few years now.
Looking to get into blowing soon, just need to find the time to get out to a shop and take some lessons.
I came over here to get a more technical knowledge of the art...
