Made on Sunday. Testing out the new ventilation system..…if I had a hair piece, I'd need some tape.
It SUCKS.

nice! that "helix" fumed pendant is out of this world :)
Thanks. That one was actually a struggle. I had been away from the torch for a little over three years before I started back a couple weeks ago. And I'm working on a new torch now. I'm still struggling with flaring points open on my new torch. It's just so much hotter than what I had I'm still learning how to work it. But, it came out okay so that's all that matters.
What did you come from and get, torch wise?
I've found that my leftover fumed point ends make great fumed helix pendants. And usually is already somewhat struck.

I had a CC. Now on a Phantom. The heat just penetrates so much quicker that I guess I'm just getting it too hot. That and I'm out of practice...

Good job herb.
On your neck bends try using a bushy flame and heat quite a bit more length than you think is needed.
This will give a more swooped bend as opposed to a sharp one. Keep at it
Thanks man, I was super nervous about bending it, it was kinda difficult to heat up a huge section with my lynx but I did use a bushy flame, I think it was good and then I bent it a little too much and it sort of pinched. All good though, its nothing I cant practice.
good bends are an art all in themselves.
\
get a good bending flame going i find ones that just burn off the soot really good lots of yellow in flame
heat way more area then you think be super aware of how heat is traveling into your piece (heat rises).
use gravity alot sort of paint the flame along the piece and as you detect the slightest bending move outward(or to different area of section) towards ends of section and keep the bend flowing
also forced bends vs unforced and rotation vs no rotation are things to play with
i liked to paint the flame under the tube (no rotation) while holding one end horizontal and let gravity (unforced) do alot of the work on many bends

gift for a man who gave me a surfing craft going to his wife :)
I used some Parramore colors on this one that I've been hoarding since 2007 or so. I had forgotten how buttery they are!

These two are now on their way to Oregon.

I was all excited to take some nice pictures of this and post it up for an auction...when I noticed a tiny crack right through the little bridge on one of the horns. Easy fix (knock on wood) but I can't get on the torch tonight, and I'm so frustrated - worked two days on it already!

And I'm not sure why but the last picture is coming up rotated sideways in the post preview. How do I fix that?
Finally tried the Jade White and I LOVE it! It looks exactly like Uroboros Firelight Opal, which is what I was hoping for.

Very nice piece A.I., such tight wig lines on that neck & smooth clean terminations. Which leads me to my next question, what did you end up doing on that disk, would love to see a pic please? Gave ya some rep, hopefully for some motivation to post a pic.
Thanks twist! Nice moves with the rep points for more pics :) I need to get some for a potential buyer tomorrow anyway, I'll post them up.
yeah that fixie bucket is super cool. I'm diggin the worked downstem too, almost didnt notice it.
Finally got around to trying to make an octopus pendant last night. Have a few things to work on but for the first one I've ever tried I'm okay with it.

Spent a few hours yesterday trying to hone my vacuum encasement tech, when I dropped a hot piece of glass on my foot pump (i use an air mattress pump as a vac) and ruined it.
So I asked the ole man if he had an old vacuum I could use. He came out of the basement with a gast oil-less vac pump.
I nearly shat myself, that is exactly what I need to make a oxygen compression system 😄 works good as a vac stack pump, too.

Bench scrap piece. A gift for a friend. Lots going on in this one. Pics don't do it justice. I wish the yellow/ orange was more lava. and the pink was more purple. Still really funky tho.
The owner, she likes it loud. Should be a good fit.
lol! that's awesome..
nice use of scraps.
