so got my new oxy today from airgas best deal 172 a fill with delivery, hazmat, tax. and 2 a day rent.. stoked..

The blue thingy looks like an abstract sea creature. Have you thought of doing stuff for fish tanks? Glass looks bitchin' underwater in the light with cool little fishys swimmin around.

Im deff likin these blue tube pieces , there way quicker and all i gotta do is qa lill silver bath after its done and these only take me bout 50 min to an hour+

Heres some of last nights pull, kinda happy with the GOG, the blue gob i actually worked right off the GOG striped the clear and reduced it down and went to work.. didnt have to attach or nothin , but i think atachin after their made will be a bit cleaner for sure... jsut kinda stoked on all my gogs have come out no trouble..
and a few more spikeys i need at least 5 and 10 heads b4 i go to the shop i want a nice lil display heheh..

build a box with a duct running to it then start using powders and the look you want is right around the corner. A good bit of the killer carver sculpters use fine frits and powders .

Coarse amazon bronze (GA) frit leaves a neat kind of organic texture.

but really do you just kinda sprinkle it in the flame or heat your piece where ya want it and kinda sift some on ??

Yes good ventalation is a must working powders. So if you are working with fans and no killer hood then a little box with its own vent you use when applying powders. There are many ways but if you have a frit tray full of powder you can heat up a point and roll it in the powder. Any that does not stick falls back or gets sucked.
I am not a real frit lover thats just what I have heard. J

If you're going to start playing with glass bits and powders, I encourage you to consider wearing a respirator - 3M makes the one I use when I mess with my powdered frits. Here's the link:

I think we found mine at Home Depot - for about $15 or so. It is disposable, but I use them until they're dirty - I keep my mask in a big ziplock bag so it stays clean and dust-free until I need it.
Have you tried rolling hot glass in baking soda? I haven't done it yet myself, but saw the technique in a coupla beadmaking books - evidently the baking soda makes the glass surface matte and pitted...might be worth goofing around with to see if that might get you a look you're happy with.

you can get some texture by not cleaning your bench and then using exclusivly shitty puntys so the piece keeps dropping

thats sweet crip! when i go to the place that has my pipes, it looks like a mosasic b/c they got so many crammed per case. lol, takes me like 5 minutes to find my prodo in the mix sometimes.
