Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
Hey what up everyone?? My name is Zac and I am just learning to blow glass. I only have about 3hrs in the flame with hopefully many more to come. I was trying to pull color for those 3 hrs and did not really get much that was useful. I kept pulling to fast, not fast enough, not heating the color fast enough as I'm pulling it, etc. Oh well I just need to keep practicing and I will get it down.

Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
Hey all, I've been lurkin' around your forums for a while now but I don't think I've ever actually introduced myself, lol. My name is James, I'm pretty new to the glass scene, been on the torch for a few months now. Learned everything I know from a killer artist(Korey), even if I've only had one lesson so far, lol. Also slightly self-taught, but thats a ridiculously slow-going process... Still don't have a kiln, waiting for it to come, thanks kgd for hooking me up with such a great deal! As for where I'm from, I live near Vancouver B.C. :D

Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
Hey everyone,
Kyle Keeler--
Been working glass for 7 years now. Started out in Fort Collins Co, moved out east to Asheville N.C. in Sept. 07'. Lovin' the mild winter in the South, but torchin in the summer here is proving to be just as challenging as freezing through a Colorado winter. Work on a Delta and I am striving to make really large pieces to test the limits of our medium, but I think I need a Delta Mag....mmmm...oneday.... maybe I'll start saving for one with my huge stimulus check... Thanks to everyone that has contributed to making this forum such a kick ass resource for anyone that has an interest in lampwork. Peace.

three hours on the torch Mr. Nughit. you are god. i envy you.
matt eskuche, metalsmith for 8 years before i had my back against a volkswagon bus and a torch between me and a box fan in a garage in Nederland, CO. oh, yeah, my grandpa has a paperweight on his dresser that i made in 91'.
cc burner, points, paper, superglue, seemingly shittier brands of beer, dogs, really wanting to get my diesel converted to veggie, happy as hell to get to melt shit and call it a job.
just learned to read and write, so bear with me if i've been hogging the tweezernet the last couple days..
peace, hope to meet all y'all.
forgot to say, just had my ten year anniversary with flameworking this March, although sometimes i sleep on the couch.

Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
Yo! I guess this is where I start huh? The name's Andy. I'm like 30 or something......... I don't keep track anymore.......... I live on the east coast of Florida in Palm Bay. I collect marbles.......hand made ones, old or new it doesn't matter, I just never got into machine made ones............ so I got to thinking one day....... wouldn't it be cool if I could make my own marbles? Well hell yeah it would! So..... I took a 2 day beginning boro class and made some......and had a crapload of fun doing it........ then I ended up draining the bank account to set up my own studio in the shed. Soon enough I'll be making marbles in my back yard if those aura lens goggles ever show up at my front door..........got my fingers crossed for this week. So far I've found lots of good info on this site, looking forward to joining in the fun! Peace..........
Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
Guess it's about time to introduce myself. Name's Dan, from the Boston area. I work as a teachers assistant in flameworking classes in Boston and as an apprentice to a pretty killer pipemaker in Somerville. Don't have my own set up yet, but I'm still melting glass full time! When it's not summer, I go to Hampshire College, where I'm studying art and music. I like to play the saxophone and I try to play the piano.

Turned on the torch in a warehouse in Boulder, CO ten years and about 200,000 miles ago. That was back when Northstar had..i dunno..maybe 29 colors, and living next to Glasscraft was a godsend. I discovered the three square inches of 3000 degrees where the rules are laid down by heat and gravity and the limits of imagination (and hand skills...) Been keeping the house warm with that fire ever since... Soooo cool to see you all here. Now get out there and WORK :)
