a coworker took a few pics of my mib with a macro lens or something. idk anything about photography but the lightling looks weird to me. i asked her to take pics while it is sunny and see what she comes up widdit
i screamed at her "THIS IS A TOTAL REDO YOU'VE RUINED MY WORK" and shamed her back to the drawing board, i mean. Why even offer something for free or to be nice if you're going to totally suck at it i mean gah ;) ;)
New shop sippy cup for my water. Holds just under a pint. Light silver , then slightly more gold. Drunken hand gaurd.
I put the straw on before I flared the top lip, that was a mistake that led to some wonky ness. However , it's just for me to use , and was another end of the night quickie. Took about a hour.. The straw was a reused reject from the scrap bucket.

Sunlight this time. Yay!
I knew I could get closer to perfect with out the straw in the way. Silver fume only this time. Holds a pint, plus a 1/2 oz extra for the extra space ... Was totally chance I got it "perfect" size.

...how are you supposed to drink it without the sippy straw?? ;)
I'm joking
Looks good!
This brings up questions for me.
I was going to make a fume goblet, but wanted to ask more experienced folks.. Are there any health concerns to drinking from a fumed glass? The stuff that's trapped obviously not, but even after baking in my fume, I can wipe off a lot of 24k gold surface fume with my finger. Enough to concern me. So what about stuff that is coming off that I can't see? Is it enough to be potentially dangerous?
Just checking your thoughts on this sorry if this isn't the right place I can move this question.
I don't think there are any legitimate health concerns. Gold is inert in the human body - sometimes used as food decoration, even - and colloidial silver is often taken in much higher doses than anyone would quaff drinking wine from a fumed goblet. Lots of plates and silverware are made from silver, and it's thought that the antibacterial properties of the trace silver ingested when using them might help keep people healthy.
^^^Dusty is right. People regularly take colloidal silver and gold and have no issues. Some people swear by it...but it won't hurt you.
I just snorted some silver an hour ago. It's supposed to help with colds and I have a bad flu... I thought about misting it on the glass somehow but that sounds like a recipe for a crack.
great stuff in here as usual, its been awhile since i added something.
first one is a collab with Jim O'Shea, I did the fuming over black that fades to fuming over clear, to match his fuming on scalloped tubing work, and assembled it.

^ loving that circa late 90's feel. Fume feather work /line work will always be one of my favorites. (If not my all time favorite)
They remind me of when I started. (The Color , not the skill)
We used to have pipe breaking contests.
1. Make the strongest spoon you can.
2. Throw your competitions spoon down the hallway in a attempt to break it.
The only real rule was it had to skip twice off the hard wood floor before it hit any brick wall.
Feather work fume was always the "clear" choice.
Fume work sleeved into a blank was the winner 90% of the time.
How are you creating the line tubing in the previous post? Some looks like it has a clear coat/vac stack . Some just looks drawn on?
Its all outside work. Some is layered. No vac or sleeving.
