reversals are a bitch to get right but its rewarding as balls to get them right

since youve been so down with fume lately

id recommend making a tube of fume clear lines and using that for reversals

its a good way to conserve color and get reversals in

also

i see that your clear dots on the side of your bowls are getting bubbly
i was having the same problem but if you make the gather a little slower
and pull it off in the back flame

they come out crystal clear and more of a magnifier

oh illtry that Magma, but all the others survived just that blue one poped cuz my bowl was touching at the top and that just made it pop..

heres some crap from the last few days

I over cooked the red tube where i hooked the lense and pushed bowl so it looks like livery shit but not to bad.. the rest i just kiln struck for bout 20 min, might have been too long i wanted it a lil more transparent on the red but most was sweet just not the livery spots..

more fume and a few hotrods, you guys ever use hot rods for burnin, they work great and you can taste all the goodness in your tobacco heheh

as for the bubbles ya thats just me using dirty rod off bench and not being patient heheh I could make it bubbleless but sometimes i just say fook it cuz itll still sell

oh ya and io did a nother frit n mili, it cracked on me 3 times but i managed to pull it off, the last crack happened while i was bout to put it in kiln so i got it back together without a blo tube kinda like magic..

i use the acme yellow n purple frit on the last one and the acme emerald flash on this one, it woulda stayed more green if i didnt have to fix all the cracks n get her to hot

Yup and i think ill be lovin it more next week,, its getin cooler out and im finally switchin to liquid so im gona have to be torchin all the time now should make me better quicker, now that i wont be trying to conserve oxy. weeeeeeeeeeeee

Looking great man, I like checkin' in once in a while and seeing your progress. Mine's a bit slower due to the family and money combo thing, but it's getting better.

heat with a butane lighter, or on the stove, or anything that gets hot... then heat up your tobacco, or legal herbal blend with the heated glass. It's so you don't get any nasty lighter fluid taste...

so i made a few last night, I tried the "blow out" made a good effect I did 1 then hooked another to the end then another then i was like fuk this talkin to long so i jsut coiled up the bowl and it looked shitty, should of stayed with teh origonal idea heheh,

your head pressure is already at 250, it's gonna vent. this tells me either the head regulator is set to 250, OR your pressure builder is open? close the pressure builder, you shouldn't need it except sometimes when you first get the dewar just to get oxy flowing.

i could be wrong, but i think this is your head regulator. look closely, it might be labeled. your dewar looks pretty rusted and beat up so chances are it's not going to be clear. you turn that nut to adjust it.

unfortunately i don't remember which way to turn it, hopefully someone else can chime in with which direction to turn it. on nice new dewars that bolt is labeled 100 150 200 250 etc etc and you just turn it to the pressure you want.

i don't use liquid any more so i can't run in the garage and check for you, i hope it's labeled in some way. has it vented yet?

Ya it was venting a lil yesterday just slight hiss, teh reg you marked is the one that was iced over last night, i havnt used the pressure builder yet and it is off,

so Im going to go open the vent and let pressure off losen the screw and turn builder back on and if it doesnt go over around 100 where ill want it set i should be good?/

its a 230# vent so it showing 250 is a lil odd but it has never gone over that, was holding around 200 when wrkn last night..

Im gona go try now I will be back with results..

Dewars come in 160L (Liters) 180L and 230L. Usually 230L come on wheels, and they're short and fat. Those are the best ones IMO.

160 and 180 are usually 250psi dewars, they vent at 250. 230L doesn't vent until 350psi.

I'm not sure how to set your head regulator. Turn it a few times around and see if you notice any numbers. It will either stay where it is, constantly increasing pressure to 250 then venting, or it should go down. It's not a fast process though, if you set it right, it could take a few days to drop internal pressure.

When it does vent, it will come out one of those two little things connected to the internal pressure guage. You may even notice one labeled "250psi vent" or something like that. If the head regulator or pressure builder are covered in ice, that means they're open and flowing!

That's a really beat up dewar, maybe ask if you can get one in better shape next time. Once you get the head regulator figured out you'll be set for a while, thats a lotta o2!!!!!!

Also, no need to vent off oxy, just get to work ;)

Ok so I vented it down to like 180, took like 5 or 6 min just blastin oxy out so i decided to stop..

ok so now i have that screw backed out bout 3 turns,

ok so now when i run oxy thru the torch reg that reg you have circled ices over really quick bout 3 min and it was startin to ice..

and another possibally bad thing is when i turn the PB knob its like its stripped i can tighten it almost gets tight then loose again.. so hoping its closed and i wont have to mess with it ..

well see in a few hrs after i work for a while, if the pressure doesnt go back up over 200 Ill guess that was the right screw to adjust,

the other reg is actually hooked to the puressure builder vlave but its not getting cold or really doin anything as far as i can tell, so i havnt touched that screw..

and ya its venting out the lil round guy on the gauge part..

so the only thing im wondering now is if thats the right one that i adjusted, its the only one that ices up when in use..

your pressure builder knob is probably just lose, tighten the phillips screw on top of it.

The one nerd circled in red is the right reg to adjust. You need to turn it out more than three times, doesnt need to go all the way.
