Here is the red headed step child of my last sherly. Used the rest of my prep. Would have liked to get a pic of both together but the other one is already gone.
Thanks fer lookin
lookin good bro!
I love english ivy!! This sherlie is sleeved E.I. kiln struck. I've got the other half of the prep I did to play around with tonight.
And a frankenspoon of sections left over from other stuff.
Diggin it brother!! :turtle:
I like the EI too!, That last spoon also Ku!...
farout and groovy :)
You allways do some cool shit man! I would say keep it up but I know I ain't gotta tell you that...
Thanks everyone! it was totally fun. I think I'm gonna have to get some unobtainium and make myself some english tech soon.
English ivy is the shit man! your sherly is off the hook!
Dig it man! Gotta love those strikers!
What up folks? This is lastnights work.
the rest of my tube prep with the E.I. and the first linework I've done in about a year (and I only messed with it a few times) so I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.
It was a good night.
The linework one cracked in the maria during construction after I removed the bridging. I used the healing flame lastnight. That flame is gravy! You can't tell there was ever a crack there. I hit it with the handtorch just to be sure but the crack was gone before I even did that.
Thanks for lookin
Looks awesome dude! Love the colors you use!
I WANT IT!!! The E.I. sherly wit tha marble... Gotta have that in my collection!
what temp do you kiln strike that EI at. it cant look any better than that!
Colors are Blingin !.. Very Nice!..Yeah what temp and how long?
Muk- that sherly is yours for sure! I'll pm ya.
Guys I started the strike in the flame and then finished it at 1100 for about 20-30 min then just a regular annealing cycle.
I think it helps to start the strike in the flame and let the kiln finish the job.
^^ yep it does that way you dont have to crash your kiln up and down over and over to bring out the colors unless you want it super saturated looking.
Thanks kut I could always use a sandwich!!
You crack me up.
shirles look great man,, verry nice,, ;)
Blastshield came yesterday. She's a sexy lady!
oh snap... Thats cool as hell looking. im sure you will know for sure when you get into it, but that v tool seems in the way to me. are you left handed?
Awesome man ! Congrats on the new torch.
Yeah I am left handed but that doesn't matter cuz the v-necker flips down when not in use. Just wanted to show it in that position.
Nice blastshield! And your shirlys are lookin great, love that style man!
Thanks guys, my studio is out of comission right now so all I can do is look at it right now.
how do you like your mirage? im waiting for one now..
Nice blastshield!...Why are you outta of commission Brotha is everything alright? Are you in need of a sabbatical or just redesigning around your new torch?..=)
Oneofakind- yeah dude the mirage is awesome. You'll love it.
Headdi- we are moving some stuff around in the house right now so I had to disassemble some stuff for a while. Already feigning for some fire.
Here's my first vortex mib. Made it for my wife a couple of weeks ago and decided to post pics of it. The termination could have been crisper but otherwise I would call it a success.
Thanks for lookin
nice vortex... way better than my first attempt... great work in general. i cant wait till im makin locks like yours man... they all look very clean
You know for a second there I thought that those mibs were dishes. great job on the illusion.
Thanks guys. I wish I could sell mibs a little easier. I love making them.
Same here dude. Have you tried a frit vortex yet? they are super easy and create sick tunnels. I wish there was more of a market for them tho...
I'll have to try that frill. I need me some good frit though. Been meaning to get some just haven't yet. I'm getting all the stuff I need for vac stacks right now. Can't wait to get into that.
Hell yea, vac stacks pay off hella big time once you get into that shit. think about it, you could even make extras and sell/trade them to your friends for other glass stuff that you dont have ya know? besides the fact that linework is what people are willing to shell out the big bucks for...cant wait to see your tubes dude
Thanks frill. Just got in a case of both 50x5 and 25x4 now I just need my blowhose assembly and it should be ready to go. Well as soon as the studio is back in working order.
It's like 70 out here tonight. Perfect weather for torchwork and I'm out of the game. The only weather I like better is rain. The fresh scent of it flowin through the studio.....almost as good as napalm in the morning :D
