Re: Does anyone have a heart!?!?!?!?
Actually, Tom DID do a scholarship kind of thing last year, didn't he? Or maybe the year before? Possibly someone from another counrty won it? Could be wrong, my memory isn't the greatest....
Jestr there are two kinds of AGI tickets, the "A" tickets include bench space and gasses, and people who attended the previous year get first crack at those so they go pretty fast (they become available around October I think). Anyone can get a "B" ticket which doesnt include your own workbench, but you can still use someone elses spot if they'll let you, and still get all the demos and other goodness.
This year I'll be making my first trip up there, I'm super psyched about it.

I used JUST THE TOP of your torch, a national premix with a 12 hole tip for about 6 years. I could make anything from little spoons, to any of my simpsons characters, to 5 chambered bubblers.
Quit your whining and practice practice practice.

Re: Does anyone have a heart!?!?!?!?
i did 75x5 vac stacks with 8 mm of color rod and 50x5 on the inside with my midrange.......granted with a lathe but still...... thats 75x18mm roughly........ u should be able to melt some shit just fine........ i always hear about guys who like to brag about how long they used welding torches and although that does showcase skill, im sure everyone would agree that if u have the basics of lampworking down, upgrading to a nicer torch is never a bad idea
Re: Does anyone have a heart!?!?!?!?
I just got a midrange plus, and couldn't be happier. Its perfect for where I'm at in glass. I don't panic at how fast the glass is getting soupy haha seems to be a very usable flame, and I've been quite surprised by the size and heat it has when really opened up.
