I definitely like the front feet on the retti unit for all 4 feet, small compact and cute. The smaller units the better and I love ur baby rigs
Yeah I agree on the feet. Try and make your normal feet as even as possible front and back. I think this will help the way the units look quite a bit. Zeus none of those rigs he recently posted are mine. I guessing maybe you seen my pictures over on TC?
HKS is a good friend of mine. Pretty sweet new rig too.

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
i make the back feet longer for stability, cuz the mouthpiece and stem are fairly large relative to the whole thing, and if you want to lean them back far enough for good visibility longer back feet assures this is good to go. longer front feet may match, but it is not necessary for function.

this tube pull i mixed up two lines, so used it for a goblet instead of money making stuff. i bridged the stem to work it, not bad, not great. works great for that though.

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
That goblet came out really nice. Are you still not selling those? I know hks has a few really heady ones.

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
All three of those rigs look so sick
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
i like the goblet... its nice to get away from functional for a minute sometimes. expanding horizons really brings out the creative juices. keep it up man!
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
how is a goblet not functional? is there hole in it?
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
haha, i been thinkin bout that for a minute myself, i have used that a couple times already.
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
i meant tobacco use functional... i know you can use a goblet
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
mmm pliny the elder in a goblet could be good ;)

you bet bro, i typically drink IPAs and belgian tripel styles in goblets, and dark beers in mugs.

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
bridged on all of these. actually replaced the mouthpiece on the donut one, and realized that it was actually possible to do so, and do a good job, thanks to bridging it.
oops i got a new camera, have to fix that.

That last rig is legit. Nice dude.
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
Very nice work Kut, good to see the progression coming along nicely.
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
Glad you tried the bridging tech, that changes your game on welds big time, at least it did for me. Good lookin units kut.
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
nice! i'm really diggin that last one
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
love em!! the last one has wicked contrast
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
man, i made something kind of freaky, for me anyway. its pretty odd too, pics tomorrow i think.
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
really diggin the donut unit and that black one! keep it up buddy!
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
Is that last rig dark cobalt or black?
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
jet black, i guess its all the purple giving it that effect a bit maybe.
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
Very nice on that last unit kut... Also diggin' that white retti from the previous post.

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
pimpin the steel wool, very nice!!!!!!!!!

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
that smaller connection looks much nicer
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
do you mean between the stem and main can? because for function, thats a bit too small almost, its a good thing thats a larger than average ball or it would suck up water, because the throat going up is a bit small. thats why they are so large usually, for function.
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
i dont think he means that it looks nicer because its smaller but it looks nicer overall IMO
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
Looking good Kut. Try some ggirl style feet on one of your rigs.
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
what are those? small nubs? naw, i like em bigger. her style is more applicable to her flat bottomed units as well, i like the round bottom, very rarely do i flatten them, which would allow the diminutive stabilizers.
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
I like the flat bottom and small nub feet. Give it a try on one unit. It would add more stability and improve the look imo.
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
i have made some in the past. there is no stability issues the way i make them, and i prefer the round bottom at the time being, and dont like tiny feet either. if you want some flat bottomed ones you need to start making them like you want em.
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
try as many different ways as possible!!!...why not?...keep things from getting stale, keep you sharp!....i think this one got some style and flow....i think this is by far the biggest jump of improvement in alot of ways in this thread of progression!

Your rigs tip backwards way easier than your sister's.... Just a thought....
-
Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
not the ones on the table i have. hers are just as tippy, i have two of hers and a bunch of mine. i havent had one complaint they were too tippy yet, and dont worry, i am constantly working on things such as optimizing stability :)
one of the reasons hers could be more stable is the stem to can ratio is different. i make mine always much smaller, so the mouthpiece and stem is relatively heavier on my units typically. she has much larger bodies, so they weigh the rest down a bit easier, but like i say, its not something i am finding with the models i have present. she curves her stems differently too, so they are more forward.

i tried my sisters foot and body style for awhile, i like to keep trying new things thats for sure. i am progressing at my own plodding mindlessly methodical pace.

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
I feel ya, nothing worse then when a bub becomes a crazy straw. Where do you get the titanium plates or whatever those are, and what kind of wire you use if you don't mind me askin. I actually had some requests for the curves. PM me if u want.
