puff into the section every now and then while twisting, this will prevent it from folding onto itself. If thats what you're talking about?

I guess what I'm talking about is when you push the Maria, sometimes the inside fume disk that is supposed to have the fumicello on it will distort in a manner that makes it appear as though the very edge of the disk has been folded over like a piece of paper. This drives me nuts could I be pushing too thing of a Maria?

Jim, my mind just exploded. Those are beautiful! The colors are perfect, loving the hue of green. any tips for achieving those shades? I've been trying to apply a light layer of silver, make it disappear and bring it back a few times with oxy/reduction flames to bake it in. then twist and stretch and pushing. I haven't experimented with kiln or flame striking them yet though.
Mbashaw, that happened to me. I think it was because the tube wasnt an even heat. I noticed if I get the section an even heat before pushing it goes much more uniformly.
Hnnnngh those marbles are sweet! All silver 0.o my mind is also blown.

Yeah Jim your mibs are crazy, I really liked the quintuple you posted on your IG this week.
@mbashaw Herbchambers got it when he said the heat has to be even on the whole section before you push the Maria. Cause the outer most edge of the finished fumicello is where you first push so it's just about setting it up to be as clean as possible. Even tubing width/wall weight, even heat, and an even twist should have you set up nicely for a good push.
Alright cool thanks for the tips Herb and Herbie! I'm gonna give it another go tonight I believe!

good luck, the cleaner the tubing is and spiral is, the cleaner the final product will be. I found that slowing down helped me a ton. I was also doing them with a blowtube and a punty on one end. sucking and picking the rest of the air out. gonna try two blow tubes and suck the air out from both ends.
Thanks, I think I'm gonna need to start using 2 handles that are the same diameter and make sure that I have a clean blowtube connection.

yes!
yup, I also feel like it'll squash up into a maria easier when these a little bit of thickness to wall so ill condense it a bit before I maria. this also give it a nice thick edge of clear around it. I've also noticed if you squash it quick and even you can get some interesting airtrap effects.
I've been getting much more pleasing hues of blue, but the yellow/gold lines are evading me. Im trying to kiln strike about 8 of these right now. i hope it works out well.
some recent fume things. sorry for the terrible quality, my ig posts are much better quality, @Tomw4. What do you guys use to host your images?

I use Photobucket for mine, HerbChambers. Usually doesn't effect them too much uploading them to there.
Tried a new style pendant, did one with haterade, one with purple rain and one with blue stardust. All fume centers, all backed with eclipse. Photobucket definitely worked better than imgur quality wise, So thanks cheesenip.

No problem. Also keep in mind, if you are using a phone for your pics, the pixel count may not be high enough to upload really good pics once they get blown up to size. I've got the Galaxy S5 with 16 MP, so it's not really a worry for me, unless I'm uploading large scenic pictures or something similar, but there is that to consider as well.
Yup, I'm pretty camera illiterate haha. Posting from an iphone 5s over here. I think just switching to photobucket was enough to improve the pics. Thanks for all the help cheesenip!
