Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
ShinySlverDragon - or Sheri when i'm away from the computer. :)
I'm actually more of a car nut than a glass nut at the moment. I'm into modifying imports and drifting. I want to drift competitively one day, and have been building my car and drifting for about 3-4 years now.
Recently ran into some major car problems, and with my current financial situation had to put the car away for a bit.
My boyfriend showed me some glassblowing sites, and some places that run training courses and such, and I started to get interested. (I'm pretty sure he was using it as a way to distract me and stop me being grumpy over the car all the time :P)
So thats about it :) i'm keen to try my hand at some glass projects, and am really enjoying all the inspiration and information on this forum.
Oh yeh, and I live in Sydney, Australia. :)

Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
Whats up everyone! My name is Matt, I'm 22 and I live in Illinois.
I haven't even seen a torch in person yet, but I've been fascinated with glass since the first time I stepped foot in a head shop (at 18 I think...). I have a glass studio within a 30 minute drive from me and I plan on taking classes there and renting torch time until I can get a studio set up in the garage.
My goal is to sell my work eventually, but I plan to focus on selling things like pendents and marbles at first, not pipes.
I've been reading all I can here for the past week or so. The amount of information here is pretty amazing. BTW, I can use the search function so I'm sure we'll get along just fine :D

And if you ask a really touchy question they'll blow hot bubble trash on you.
Welcome and good luck! Two years into it and I'm supporting a family so it's possible, especially if I can do it.
