Re: 33>104 New Magazine In Production NOW! Suck it Flow!
i have one copy of Hotbreath i picked up in Vegas - it's not too bad. really nice interview with snodgrass, and nice attitude taboot.
speaking of the flow, the new issue is fantastic and is chock full of some beautiful glass pipe photos. figured i'd better mention this since it's been turning into a bit of a bead mag, and that's what's got people talking. this issue has done a 180 for now

Re: 33>104 New Magazine In Production NOW! Suck it Flow!
Ours should be free too, Ad driven.
checked out Hotbreath, well done, nice production too, but mine is more targeted at US. I am saying it is very very good.
Vut mine is more targeted to flameworkers, it has in depth How To tech sections not just the vanity pieces they have. and our ad density is lower (not for profit). Ours is a little less crunchy too. And our models are hotter (well, they will be). They have good photos , nice fluff pieces and interviews, but little shared knowledge.
I have a buying guide where we cut apart a ton of pieces, from Imports to Illadelph, on the wet saw, tourture tested, stuck em in the polariscope (thanks salem!) and did all kinds of tests to prove counterfeits are inferior, etc. When the kids see that imports have LEAD in them (trace but still) and BENZINE, AND SILICA DUST, the crunch granola people will be more educated and stop buying that garbage.
ever wonder in you could just turn off your kiln at 1050 and go home or if you needed to anneal 30 mins at 850 too? Polariscope study reveals... if you have deeply encased marbles or thin GONG joints ....??? Now we know
Ever polish a piece with red rouge on a jeweler's buffer?
if you overheat your Glass on Glass joint and it goes clear do you trash it or regrind?
Are you SURE your ring seals are perfect? Know how to test em for strain under pressure?
Why are your flip disc enclamo's not perfectly round, and can you straighten them if they aren't?
lesson 1, keep it clean
This is going to be good, high quality rag for us by us.
I was hesitant to put out our secrets, but first with Slingers Movie, and then the Eusheen/natey video seminar thing, and finally Dustin Revere's Weekly you tube series, i'm excited to help crash the Glass Curtain once an for all. Any of you pay around $2-5000 for one of those 1990's "apprenticeship? Betcha did. And most of us didnt even know what a full melt or even wall weight meant. I sure didnt.
I love my peeps, and i'm doing this for you. Please help me.
Oooo and my friend that teaches lathe-work at the local CC did a whole how to turn your own titanium domeless nail!! That is cool. I'll be posting the companion vid for that. If I can find a sick one I still need a wire wrapping expert too.
All things heady? sounds stupid to me. Would you use that in conversation?
I'm just hating. I didnt want a competitor.
If you get an idea, jump on it, because 10 people just had the same idea, and they probably have better funding!

I have a couple submissions, combing the various opinions, you can add yours too, thats what its all about.
And I'm pretty sure joe isn't a dr of anything
Joe Barker is a Doctor of Pristine Awesomeness at the University of "Suck it, I'm better than all of you fools" State.
I am putting together a Petition to him an Honorary Masters Degree (at least), got 100 signatures and spaced it. I'm sure whatever the highest honorary title salem can give but sure they will bestow. I was still horrible with 5years experience or so at many things, he sat right beside me, or hovered over my shoulder giving subtle directions or forcibly moving my hands until i did it right.
Joe is my hero.
His Daughter and Niece just bought one of my pieces last week!!! (hush) How cool is that?
Re: 33>104 New Magazine In Production NOW! Suck it Flow!
I notice this thread started with "Suck it Flow" more than two years ago and the statement, "I will have the cover proof and a test spread back from the printer/separator end of next week". I also notice that at that time someone referred to "the last time you said this. "
Last night, within the space of an hour and a half you made 5 consecutive posts in the thread, 4 of them within 15 minutes of each other - one of those consisting solely of "ddd", and another "xxx".
So, are you currently in your manic stage, or what?

Did somebody say Free Stickers?
Re: 33>104 New Magazine In Production NOW! Suck it Flow!
I am happy to see a new publication. I am not happy to see the hater attitude. Looking forward to getting a copy, till then keep it up!
Re: 33>104 New Magazine In Production NOW! Suck it Flow!
Definitely interested, but I prefer digital mags, don't know what type of cut zinio and the like take, but I can't imagine it's more then a print/distribute magazine would cost... Any chance of a digital mag?
I'm hoping the first post was meant to be taken as humorous and a lot of folks might've gotten bent out of shape due to the fact that you can't tell sarcasm through text, but I like that you are back with more info, and I'm looking forward to some new reading material!
keep it up,
D
Re: 33>104 New Magazine In Production NOW! Suck it Flow!
Looking forward to seeing it.
Re: 33>104 New Magazine In Production NOW! Suck it Flow!
I thought this mag was going to press sept 1st? What happened? Is it delayed, or cancelled? If you can't publish a physical magazine, publish it online. At least then it's out there for people to utilize.
Re: 33>104 New Magazine In Production NOW! Suck it Flow!
I read a lot on my Kindle Fire HD, sure would rather have a digital magazine myself.
Re: 33>104 New Magazine In Production NOW! Suck it Flow!
Kiln cooking 101 was my idea!...
Re: 33>104 New Magazine In Production NOW! Suck it Flow!
If the magazine is written in the same buzzed stream-of-consciousness style that his posts are, I'll have a headache before I get a quarter of the way through it.
