Pretty much everyone but me feels that way about simax. I must do something different. I assume it's how I cook my fume in before encasing. I get rid of any metallic sheen. The metallic sheen produces a haze, without it, the colors stay pretty vibrant. When it comes to honeycombs, I imagine the fume growth that I hate in other clear becomes an advantage. I don't do many fume honeycombs.
I think alot of it depends what end of the spectrum you are trying to hit. I have definitely think that inside out is more tricky on SBA. I will try to do a side by side comparison this week at some point of my different styles in both SBA and simax.
Also I fume really really heavy. I always hear people talking about "light layers". Maybe you fume light on simax, and heavy on SBA. Just a thought.
That dry is the balls! Love the shape.
I've found very, very light silver fume worked best for me with SBA for ISO work. That was the only way I could get the crystal clear royal blues. However its so much more then the amount of silver. Temp of the blank, flame chemistry, phase of the moon, what stones you've got surrounding your bench, and the amount of time since the last shop cleansing with a smudge stick. You also can't forget barometric pressure.
Full moon tonight, maybe I should bust out the sba and some silver.
i think i over fumed on the black one

Not even hmk the black one looks pretty sick dude. I'd drink out of it for sure.
here's one from yesterday. it's hard to capture all the hues that the fuming provided.

So this is simax tubing. It is a lot different than sba. One difference is that purple on top of yellow towards the blowtube. I forgot, but that is a simax only fume combo. It's also 36x1.6 tubing. I normally use SBA 38 x 2.8. I need to order some thin wall stuff by SBA to do a fair comparison. Although from now on I will be carrying both types of clear. They both have their strong points.
Nice Man! Some more of mine....

I worked on a herbie for around a year or two, and only recently. Redmax before that and currently using a Phantom. I get the same results on all three, though it took practice.
