I have a miracle product named Ching wan hung. It is a Chinese remedy and I have never had anything work better for severe burns. The hospital will give silvidine cream and it is ok, but Ching wan hung works miracles.

I have never heard the dish soap remedy before but will definatley give it a go.
Any certain soap to use or avoid?

IMO the worst part of the burn is when ya have to keep working or get back to work soon after the burn. The heat from the torch just aggravates it so much, drives me nuts!

We should have a burn thread stickied, it would be awesome to see all of them from over the years.

Had to get through a bunch of shit to get to something good.. Here are a couple of failed attempts before something actually turned out. Experimenting with color/stringers/encasements and the like. Thanks for your constructive criticism/tips. Cheers.

First attempt at rose implosion using northstar "boil-the-shit-out of me" in different shades. Oops. Will have to work on that. I didn't realize I wasn't adding enough detail to the petals to give them motion and folds. That being said, here's the second try (still boiled like a lobster)

Looking good man.

A set of bailing pliers made my life much easier. Nice, clean, easy loops every time. Here's a cheap version from mountainglass to get you started. I've got the pliers but these should work just as well.

Be aware that piercing bails, instead of making them, leaves a metal deposit on your glass on the inside of the hole. It's an eyesore IMHO.

First up is my slymie flower! Pink slyme/slyme/ and boiled star white. I worked more with the white today on my eyeball pieces and I'm starting to learn the color and how to not boil it, but even working in the furthest back part of my flame on lowest center fire torch setting it was still boiling on the rod. Once it's up to temp it's fine, but as soon as you start a new part of the rod... Anyways. Figuring it out.


Next up is a prototype bishop for a chess set I'm making. That was ultimately why I got into flameworking was to make a chess set so hopefully it will happen before too long. Still getting my skills together.

Getting there. First larger implosion. Started on 28mm. Took some hot hot HEAT. I'm surprised at how well it came out for how upset I was about it the entire way through.
