Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
all these storys that make me physically ill could have been avoided with a hd security camera and a few mics.. dont let security people or anyone of that nature into your home or shop, they understand how easy it is to install a tv, fridge, plumping or cameras and come back and take everything they saw of value and security people have the advantage of knowing your security weaknesses. im sure you can get a few really good cameras and mics for less then, 500 dollars, screw the torches and glass these thief's need to be put into check.

Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
Posted about lynx in glassifieds main but thought I'd share about this odd one here.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gtt-lynx-tor...item35d1b2f0f5
I saw a listing not too long ago (1/27) by this seller but it had a stock photo and no description and was titled "Gas torch technology's. Torch" so I shot them a message asking about the model and here was the response:
"It is the 13 port triple mix torch .it was 600 new barely has any use on Torch is capable of wide brushy flame or tight pencil like.. Did you see the new pictures I posted I'm contemplating on relisting the torch with the marble marver in a graphite variety of tools also bead Release"
I sent him an email with my phone number so I could ask more questions (seeing as how this person had no sales ratings) and yielded no response. There hadn't been any new pictures posted. He has now relisted this (2nd link shippin out of Tillamook) but says it is a Lynx but has 13 Ports. There are no pictures of the ports. Weird right? No one bid on it the first time around
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231141606957...84.m1423.l2649
Maybe just an inexperienced seller, but it's odd

Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
damn since when is a lynx 13 jet?
-
Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
If you look at that listing his spelling is horrible. I doubt those are stolen. But the lynx / cheetah he is posting looks used more than once.
I would bet on a dim wit seller. No shortage of idiotic morons blowing glass. Just take a look at the ventilation in 90 percent of shop pics.

Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
I have all expensive torches on quick connects and when I'm not around they are put in a gun safe bolted to a cement floor.

Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
Didn't really know where to post this but just an idea. On other forums i belong to they require a picture with your user name on a notecard or something next to the item you are trying to sell. Just a little loss prevention tip that may help.
-
Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
This is a good place to post that tip. We've suggested it at times but don't require it. Some buyers require it but I don't see it often. Thank you for chiming in with good advice. :D And ...welcome. :)

Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
i'm gonna cut and paste what this chick posted. i know this girl, i was teaching her basic fundamentals a few years ago, grew up with my sister-in-law. she's done her fucked up shight as well from what i'm told, but she's always been solid with me and shows respect. i can attest to her having a mirage previous to this event and a kiln.
"STOLEN!!! My GTT Mirage was stolen from me by brandyn "Brando Bhaller glass" Hall.. He took my torch and all my tools to a buddies house in Buxton ME, and told me if I tried to get it back he would "take care of me himself". I don't deserve this, and he doesn't deserve to work on the 1700$ torch I bought with what little money my mom left to me when she passed away. He also stole a Carlisle and 2 paragon kilns and hundreds of dollars worth of glass and tools from another kid. I'd stay away from this kid and definitely wouldn't do business with him. The kid is a joke and we don't need people like that in the glass community. Anything anyone can do to help, I'd appreciate it. This is my life, my dream, my career."
if anyone has any info or knows this dude or someone around his area that knows him, please reach out and contact me.
thanks

Still really young, might live at home. This is his mommy https://www.facebook.com/Tdough121 maybe she should know her son is a thief and that he has posted multiple photos of him tokin' in an illegal state...
But besides that, I would need an email or phone number to dig deeper... "Brandon Hall" is a very common name.

Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
I talked to him. Says and owes him money for when she was staying at his house blowing glass and she was accused of stealing $900 also was supposedly going to give him 25% of the sales of the glass she made at his place. Says she was using dope and he was trying to help her out but she never repaid anything and swiped the cash. He claims that he told her that she can cum get her gear if she brings him what she owes him.
He responded quickly to my message on the book and gave me his digits. He seemed like an intelligent kid and was somewhat well spoken. I feel that both sides needed to show up online and she called the cops so it'll work out how it works out. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle.

Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
Just in case... randle.p.mcmurphy is an alias. It is the main character in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest . (excellent film by the way)
-
Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
Yeah, I prefer the book but the film is great! She claims he's just upset because she didn't want to be his lady and she forwarded me some texts where they were fighting about money and what she owed him and it looks like it's about $300. And based on the timeline he gave some supposedly stole his roommates money before these texts but it's never mentioned in what I saw. Sex makes everything complicated, lucky thing it's so much fun or it might not be worth it!

Meh. I originally referenced his police record. Edited cuz I don't think that's the right thing to do .

Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
this mirage popped up on Eugene craigslist. I sent an email and got no reply. I just thought the contact method suggested sounds shady "email me your number and I'll call you back". If you're missing a well used mirage you might wanna have a look.

Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
hoses were def cut off that mirage!
-
Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
That and he doesnt give a price
-
Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
Hoses cut is no indication of it being stolen, I can't tell you how many times I've cut my hoses, or I've seen someone else do it to there own torch. I don't know why this keeps coming up.
-
Re: STOLEN GEAR LISTINGS - If it's too good to be true...
I think mainly because you shouldn't cut off the part that has the factory screens from gtt. I've cut my hoses plenty of times too, but never my screens.
