i tried a glass line squid. I figured it would be a good novice approach to introducing hollow sculpture. had a ton a fun making him.

I only made a couple yesterday. A women contacted me and facebooked me all day long. Spring can be very distracting.

I got these dialed in pretty quickly time wise. I can make 2 a day,. At the bench switch hitting out of the kiln. 6 hours give or take with breaks. 90% Medium wall tube. The small stuff is x heavy. By the end I will make some random extra prep filling in time Before they are each done. < A plus.


It's a inline , with a 7 hole diffuser cap. (Upside down cup with holes) not a true second stage per say. People seem like them? function has been great imo.

The vac line tubing came from Bugz boro. Nice and high "color to clear ratio".no scratches, no bubbles, even walls.The price was unbeatable for a bag of "shorts."

The electric blue velvet was from Jeff's pieces. Again it was very afordable. I had the dreaded "dream crusher" Coe problems with thicker sections of the E.B.V. I soon realized , as long as I work the blue tube so it is a thinner wall on the final product I am fine. It just has to be thinner than the original n.s. wonder tube. The original tube is very thick, so it's a moot point? Just a little thinner, so far so good.

The black backround piece is the original prototype from a few weeks ago.
The white backround piece is from the day(yesterday) I made the 6/7th ones. It was FRESH OUT OF THE KILN , just this afternoon. It's brother was sold, buyer chomping at the bit. No pics.

A recycler with a fumed disc for mouthpiece with three hole inline, thing is chunky and rumbles. Also some Bender Carbcap dabbers, loads of fun!

My first fume cane I've ever tried. Popped it on a honeycomb I had finished, and made it into a dabber. I'm happy with the colors even though its really wonky.

Why dont you fix it then? Tear off the bottom, peel and straighten it up, then slightly bend straight the enlarged wompy spot on the top cane near the honeycomb.

Looks like at the clear dome part you'll need to round it up a bit before you reattach the bottom cane.

I do fixes all the time. Shouldnt take you any more than 5 minutes. Heat er up straight without sticking in the kiln.

You dont need claws or nothing.

By the way, the honeycomb is awesome, great choice of colors, she's pretty creamy.

Some days I am too lazy to keep fixing it when I make it, knowing that I can fix it tommorow if it looks to in-symmetrical. Some days I hold myslef to too high of standards and the next day my shit looks a hell of a lot better than it did when I quit, let alone the colors but that's a whole nother sunny day miracle story.

I like the attitude Barry, and I feel the same way damn near every morning I go out and check my shit out.

Nothing but gifts. Everything you make is a gift for someone, but also a gift to yourself to even be able to see such objects of beauty and make use of the light we are allowed to breathe.

The last of the serendipity tubing :( I love working with colored tubing. No more coil potting for large pieces. Time to get in touch with greasy and taffy for something "Really nice"

Kyanite. There's another larger kyanite on the back. There's more pics in my progression thread.

There's a chunk of moldavite attached to the top of the snorkel. Dave is one of the best guys I've ever had the pleasure meeting and I learned a lot from him on this piece.
