The answer is work slowwwww and tiny. Pull your stingers disgustingly thin. Then I got stuck on stringer control. Misha helped me with some grand advice. Put it all off to the side. Use the indirect heat. Hit your Maria and the heat will spread across the disc. This gives a lower yet perfect amount of heat to still be able to control your stringer and lay it right on the Maria.
I will say I tried some gold fuming and this shit would not stick with the gold on there.
Don't worry though, as soon as all of that precious metal got out of my way it was back to normal ... 😒
