think about how long it takes when considering that maybe.
it's easy;
time + materials + running costs + profit, divided by hours you work = your hourly rate
i dont think you can add time to cash and get good math in the end, but it looks simple that way :)
and it still doesnt tell steak what he needed to know, what number he should use for profit wanted. i think the math is:
profit from the object made-cost of making the object then divide that by hours worked and you get your hourly wage.
but steak still needs to decide the profit number that he is asking. i guess the formula at least gives him an hourly wage to look at, then he can decide if its worth his time or not, which i said in not so many words in my first post.
you know what I mean :-P
you bet, im with you on this one. I think Steak, find out the minimum wage in your country, and then if your art is pretty nice, double it. if its great, triple it, and then just go from there :D
hi i looked around some websites and compared the prices , at the moment my prices are nearly the same like some cheap import stuff, but i think its a good start, i calculated and came to a lower price without considering my time i sspend doing it, only the material, i even have some orders for some stuff, and nobody yet complained about the price
i mean a , for example, black leaf slide with shitty aplicated colors and wonky ground joint could maybe cost like 37 euros over here
so i think my prices are ok now
thank you very much and kind regards frank
You doin awesome on those slides, and rockin the shit out of those turtles
thank you man, i did a oil dome set for somebody and an buddy of mine filmed it and made a video with music
maybe you can tell me things i can improve it shittyx over here cause here are nearly no artists except the guys from roor, ehle, zenit and a handfull otehr blowers in whole germany, so nobody i could learn from, thats why i pareciate you guys and the forum so much

As for price Hmk is a little off time plus materials is how you get a base line.
as you get better you should shoot for a dollar a min. Wholesale
If you get to that point you are able to make what needs to be made and have time and money to buy new equipment and toys.
One thing to think about. If a customer said I will take a thousand of some item, could you make it and be happy with the pay?
Thats the things I think of when setting a price.
thanks for the tip of flamecutting the ground joints, i get nearly zero bubbles now in the weld
thank you very much
cool slides, and i like the side loading dome as well.
thanks man , i need to get those graphite holders so i can get closer to the joint, i am nor quite happy with the concetrate nails, i poked it in in the middle, but i dont know if thats the best design for a nail
kind regards
nice work steak that honeycomb wigwag slide is sick!
thank you very much man.
i think the last pics of the set with the dome and the two slides show my best work until now
i am really happy how the slides came out, and that tip with the flamecutting was really goldworthy
i did the wig wags with the benderback technique and it works awesome, you get the wigs very tight
i have a question
when i encase a tube with color then with clear and pull it down
then i am benderbacking it, and i have wigged like 5 cm this way
and i want to blow it out to a bubble
mostly i have a hard time to do it
how do you blow the wigged cane/tube to a ball?
kind regards frank
Frank there's a great thread on here, if I had time I'd search for it...
hold it with the tip up in the flame, 45 degree or so, rotate one way then back the other the same amount both ways to prevent your wags from wigging, and when you got a nice hot slightly melty end, hold it up vertically and blow gently. you can do small sections below your initial bubble, adding a wig or so each time you reheat a section below it. adding the sections of wig below will be tricky a bit. the more weight on the end the more it wobbles. some people use a punty on the wobbly end, i generally dont unless i cant control whats going on anyway.
thanks man ill try to use a punty, and yes it really gets wobbly
kind regards frank
i just use a bushy flame and puff it out into a ball.
