glass warfare http://www.glasswarfare.com/has some good ones . look for sales .glasscraft had; buy a case of glass and get a free case of joints.i think mountain glass has similar deals sometimes .yeah the cheapest chinese joints are prone to cracking . got some from third st. in los angeles where there is 30 to 40 wholesale head shops there , really cheaply made ...
Ust
Asian glass joints from glasscraft when they have them in stock. Or I am going to try out glasswarefare.com next time if glasscraft is still sold out. I buy them as cheap as I can then past the saving off to the wholesalers who like to buy them for cheap. I have been getting them for less then they could sell them to me lately.
Hand tooled ones.
I've been very happy with all the Lenz joints I've used. pricey, but great quality. I've had mixed results with Accugrind but they seem to be some of the better "cheap" joints out there. Still not the cheapest.
lenz, but theyre too pricey. accugrinds arnt as bad as they used to be, they are flame polished now anyways and UST are really nice as well.
Quickfit brand joints. There British, don't no if they are available in the US.
Rolled joints are the best...
Anyplace that has them in stock..... Right now glasswarfare.com and glasscraft are both sold out of 14 mm males. Which is my most popular size.
Is it just me or are 18mm joints easier to attach on pieces because of the larger surface area? on my 14s I have to flare them out just a tiny bit when attaching on some of my stuff. I feel I wouldn't have to do this step if I was using 18/19s
Yeah I think the 19 mm are easier to do also. But the 14 mm are more popular.
I think the 19 mm work better also.
seems around here people think 18's are teh shit, ive always had 14s on the rigs when I bought them, never cared for 18s except for on flower pieces
I think N3rd should post a tutorial with pics :P. Thanks for all these tips guys, I am just getting ready to start making some slides/globes. Figured I would start with slides first, as I have heard they are easiest. This thread saved me from having to use the search engine!
