Any interest? Let me know ASAP. Some people fell off my list (thanks for letting me know :) ) and I have some openings. They are expected to be finished here pretty quickly (the Mirages should be on their way to me Monday or so).
GTT Mirage: $1725 plus shipping

If you're ready to step up, or think that you will be soon, grab these while they're available!!!

Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
My Kobukis are ready to ship out and I still have some openings.
If anyone is ready for a Kobuki torch, let me know this weekend.:)

Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
i only seen a couple pics of kobukis, do they only come in one configuration? looked like lynx, then phantom second fire, then something on top of that....
-
Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
The Kobukis are all the same configuration: Lynx center - Phantom middle - outer ring slightly wider than a Delta Elite.
-
Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
sounds like a dream torch
-
Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
ya i'm thinking its not just a dream i want, i wanna see it in real life :)
(all black too, those look pretty rad imo).

Do you take trade-ins? ;)

Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
Here is a picture I took of the Kobuki when it first came out. I put the advertising together for GTT back in the day. This one is silver with a black manifold.

Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
Kimberly, you have a PM. I call DIBBS on the Kobuki!
I'm prolly gonna be sleepin' in the garage from now on, but I'll get more work done that way. LOL

Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
that is one really really good looking torch...
-
Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
How much hotter does this get compared to the delte?

From what I understand is the Kobuki is a Lynx inner, Phantom middle, and the outer ring is just slightly larger than the Delta. So really it's not much hotter it just has a few more variations of flame.

It's a little bit wider than the Delta, but you can still increase the density of the flame. One thing though, is that if you use the middle fire, but add oxygen from that outerring, you will have a hotter, more stable midrange flame than just a stand-alone Phantom (just like enhancing the centerfire by using the oxygen of your second fire on a two-stage torch), if you wanted to. You could also adjust the middle fire so that it mimics a Mirage. With that Phantom being the middlefire, you can push it through that outerring and give the flame more thrust than you could with a stand-alone Delta Elite. You would get a more penetrating flame and a more driving flame than a stand-alone Delta Elite. It's really a very versatile torch.

Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
you just jealous or sumpin ;)

Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
I'm very interested in a mirage and have been on a waiting list for a phantom for some time. Have cash and ready to buy. 4 post of course correct? Grady from Aim Kiln said I should drop you a line. Let me know what you think on a time frame. Thanks.

No man I'm not jealous cause I've been rockin a delta elite for years and years now. It does take a minute to figure out how to handle a big gun like a delta or kobuki. Also you'll probably be waiting way too long to get that bad boy. GTT will tell you next week but that could mean anything.....could be next year.

Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
its made and i paid already. just gotta paint it black. i bought it cuz its in stock. i know about the wait, i waited many moons for my phantom but it wasnt made when i wanted it, the kobuki already is, if you look at the first post you will see this is an invitation to buy already available torches.
i thought you just had a mirage, cuz thats what i thought i saw you with.

Going black huh? I thought about it but figured I am spending enough and don't have the patience to wait for a paint job. Black would be sweet though.

Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
they told kim it would be done this week. so lets see :)
if it takes 2 or 3 i wont be hurting too bad. gotta build a pedal, buy the parts :)

there is a bunch of people on here who rock the homemade setup, there is a great how to thread. i cant find a two stage pedal any cheaper than around 625, but this can be built with about 300 dollars worth of parts it looks. and its super easy to assemble. a good buddy sent me some really clear pics of his hookups, its like butter once you get all the leggos..
-
Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
I'm gonna run my griffen rock-it 2 stage on the center and middle, then use my old Maya pedal for the outer. Should work fairly well...
-
Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
do you need to run a footpedal on the lynx? i dont think you do really, i have seen a hookup picture where the gasses goes straight through to your centrefire, and you have tw0 sets of lines that need to be controlled with footswitches for each of the outer fires... its just a two stage footpedal system hooked up to a 3 stage torch i thought.
-
Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
^yeah no pedal on centerfire\ that'd be redundant as an on/off switch.
You're absolutely right HMK.
-
Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
So I could use my rock-it to control the middle and the old maya pedal for the outer with he center always on.
-
Re: GTT Mirages and Kobukis
The confusion comes in the naming system of pedal manufacturers...
smutty calls his single pedal a 2 stage pedal cause it's for a 2 stage torch and griffin calls his a 2 stage pedal cause it's 2 stages of pedals for a 3-stage.
Interesting, huh?
Jerry G, If your rocket is a two stage griffin it has two pedals. one for your middle one for your outer, if not it's a single stage rockit and then you'd need a separate pedal for the outer, but yeah i think you've got the idea.
