I love TMP because my first glass mentor spent over 3 grand on lessons in Seattle in 2000, and I learned even more than him at TMP in half the time! (he has his own style, no disrespect to him). (I've been a member since the beginning , the black board).

I love The Melting Pot because I have met my best friends here.

I love TMP because I have gotten more knowledge from here than any other source. It is probably, other than FB, the most important and complete collection of knowledge for glass artistry.

I love this place because of the inspiration I get from pieces like this one, and I don't do much online outside of here.

i love this place because it is awesome. pretty much everything ive learned from glass ive had to learn on my own. ive been a member here since 2006 i think and almost all of the skills i have acquired, have come from reading on this forum and sitting down in my studio and practice practice practice. I love TMP because it's the only way I have any contact with awesome experienced glass workers, answering questions, helping others, seeing folk's work from newbs to 20+ year vets!

i love TMP because there is so much info about glassblowing and glass. I've learned bits and pieces about everything from what books to read through how to price and market your work. the community here is great and raises to any occasion to help a noob out. even some very big and experienced glassblowers take away from their valuable time to help the little guy. i am yet to meet someone on here who is not a good genuine person. and of course the mods are extremely helpful with any questions and are very present on the forums not only as a mod but as a member.

I love TMP because of the knowledgeable folks that gather here. Kindness and wisdom are greatly appreciated!

We totally need the library back! I have been in contact with a few members selling books to try to up our inventory. We just got a new book a moment ago! Not gonna say what it is yet, but it's rad. :D Woot!

When I'm done with the party I will be able to put more focus into the library. Woot. :D

what exactly is the library , I'm imagining donated books mailed out for us to borrow or is it like you lend book to borrow a book , sounds awesome either way

Happy birthday forum. This place has been here 14 years? Why am I always the last one to know about this stuff? Why wasn't I informed! Where is my secretary? I don't have one!?! DAMN IT!! >:-l

Upon discovering this place, I wrote 2 of my former students to tell them about it, figuring they could come here and seek help or advice on things I might not be able to help them with, and both of them were like, "oh yeah, we totally already knew about that place, found tons of stuff there". Then I told my current student about it and she said the same thing. Seriously, why am I always the last one to find out about this stuff? Perhaps it's that darned rock I live under. Hard to get good reception down here.

Oh well, happy birthday forum. I wish I had something to contribute other than posts for now. Perhaps some day...

I love TMP because as a beginner glass blower this place has provided me with so much. It linked me up with Andrew Moch for my first lesson in glass ever about three years ago. Since then i have been a hardcore lurker on here. That one lesson from Andrew got me to buy my torch, tools and start blowing as a hobby. I have been renting about once a month (i know not nearly enough but its what i can afford and have time for with a full time job) for the last year and a half and I love it every time I get in the studio.

Thank you TMP for the wealth of knowledge advice and cool people that i have met because of this forum. Keep it up and thank you.

I love TMP because it helped start me off in the right direction, and at times continued to be of help. I also like the diversity of the members here, the little funny arguments that occur, and the safety break section for when I get bored.
