I'd like to get $35/ea. I make all the lined tubing, uv in the lined tubing. Pocket-sized sherlocks.
I also make fume iso spoons with schott and a linework cap for $15/ea.

Anything with reversals should be $50.

Nice work . Nice price .
Don't mind nomads comment just because he had locked himself into a box with his view of pricing and work does not mean you price is wrong .
Anything with a reversal worth 50
You have to understand he went from a cc to a bravo I think and runs on two cons .
Stays in his comfort zone and rarely steps out .
Cheap spoons with reversal endcaps have always wholesaled for 15 ish round here
Just trying to help. I have made them for $35 before in California when someone else paid for glass and gas etc... I could make 3 in a long day. I think it’s too much work for the money.
But you forgot about my national 6-b and OxyCon . I used that after and before the cc.

I do them now occasionally for $65 a Sherlock bubbler and they sell. Slowly but they sell.

We don’t have a lot of reversals around here really. People think they are played out for the most part.
I have repeat customers from 10-20 years ago that still buy them.

It’s true I am concentrating on 4 bubbler designs and 4 spoon designs because they sell.
Actually 6 designs I show at trade shows and that is it.
I can’t keep up with the work.

Not sure what the torch has to do with it. You can only get the glass so hot without boiling it. So a hotter torch should not make a difference really. Not to mention the bravo is a very hot and concentrated flame. I love it. Just as fast as my cc was. The cc used a k tank every 2 days though. So that is $80-$120 week oxygen bill. Versus the $15 every 3 week propane bill I pay now for the bravo.

The cc had maybe 1/4 inch larger flame and a premix center fire. The center fire on the cc make muddy fumes.

I have made like 15 reballs in my whole carreer and it sounds like I made them in about the time it took nomad to make one. Nomad, I dont even think you put any kicks in your reballs, so why do it take you the same amount of time it takes you to make a bubbler??
and why is it worth fifty bucks? serious questions
The finished piece I was talking about.

There's no picture there.
Also, are you saying it takes you 8+ hours to wig up three balls and make three spoons with them?
I'm baffled.
This thread is about Sherlock’s not spoons.

How long did it take to make 3 Sherlock’s?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Takes 2 1/2-3 hours to make a Sherlock bubbler with two inside out reversals fully worked. $65 is a steel. That’s like $20 hour.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah I worked 11:00 am-7:00 pm in California. I took a smoke break between bubbs maybe an energy drink too.

And it was hot summertime in Southern California.

I am talking about making a reversal but I am sure I could make 10 sherlock bubs in a day with a reversal in each one
Do it then! That’s a bunch of money for sure.
I do wrap and rake at that speed on a good day. But kiln space is a premium.

Oh snap! Nomad shuts Swim down!
nah, actually he still looks slow as fuck and full of shit. I do much larger numbers than this. I just did a three hour session, and I have two fumed banger hangers with attachments and about ten spoons with more work than nomads all damn day, three or four were even wrap wrakes. I dont make push bubs currently just because I have not felt like it lately, but I make ten banger hangers a day with a pie of spoons on the side almost every day, and thats why losing this 2000$ worth of glass in the last two days will not put me out of business. How many other people on this forume that have been blowing glass and learned on their own with the internet can stand an unplanned two thousand dollar hit for a week and a half of work. Nomad may be an enigma, interesting and a legend on this forum but he is not living up close to his potential, and he damn sure is not out working or selling me. Anyone who thinks different is welcome to come stay with me for a week and see how a true hustler gets down. And I earned that self confidence with blood, sweat, tears, burned skin and lost time with my family.... so seriously, suck it ps I fucking own nomad skill wise because I do get out of the box and push myself regularly
I think he was just messin with ya bud
well. I have a few mild mentally handicaps, and its hard for me to tell. It comes across to me alot of times that he is picked on so when he gets the chance he is smug to a person he thinks may be on a lower level than him on a glass blower. I dont have the mental restraint to not say how it lets me feel. it would be alot worse if I had no restraint at all. sorry to everyone
You guys are still talking about spoons.
This is a Sherlock thread.
I can do 38 spoons in a day. What the hell are you talking about?
I was talking about Sherlock’s and none of these people read enough of the thread to understand what it is even about.
Or they are jealous that because of supply and demand I get $65 each and I sell all the bubblers I can make.
I actually don’t make that many spoons anymore.
Mental handicaps?

Things have been good for me for the past 10 years. No problems really.
I admit that a little medication helps.

Actually I have a bag of pills I take with me now. Mostly due to physical ailments but I take a nontherapeutic dose of antidepressants. That’s it though as far as that is concerned.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I used to have some good anti anxiety medication but I take it all the time when I have it. So I got cut off by the doctor.
Now it’s mostly my high triglycerides. It’s twice a day medication but I forget about it and take it once at night.
I’m at risk of stroke or heart attack I am told.

To get back to the point is I am sure it’s possible but I have never seen anyone make more pipes in a day than me.

$13 hour is the new minimum wage in New York.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I personally believe it is harder to blow glass than work at mc Donald’s and I resent the Industry for the low wages.
My mechanic gets $100 hour. I have twice as much college schooling as he does!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Then get an actual job nomad and blow glass as a hobby. It’s absurd that yo resent and industry because it doesn’t fund your life. I mean I guess I get it. I resent the NFL for not letting untalented guys like myself not play. SMH. The world doesn’t own you anything. The reason your mechanic gets paid is he has skills that matter.
Glass blowing is not essential to the customer. When they have spare cash they may buy a piece.
A working car is essential to most people’s lives. He can charge what he wants.
Yeah $34,000 a year is hard.
